It does really feel like Noel has run out of things to write about over the last few albums. Maybe it’s the stability he has now, just the songs are lacking a bit of meaningfulness. I’m a huge Noel fan and will stil enjoy the songs for what they are. At the risk of a N v L bashing, Liam’s songs (although not all lyrics by him and not lyrically amazing or anything) he is at least saying a bit more with things like “I’ve been crucified for just being alive” - which is powerful

That's something I think you can hear in loads of great artists like Radiohead, Massive Attack, and Kanye - interestingly, the kind of influences you can hear in Fort Knox.

But the crapness of what he’s putting on top of the great new sounds is actually making me cringe and means songs less listenable. Maybe there should be an instrumental version of the entire album

I like his new songs, but I'm with you both in that regard. His last song that had this kind of lyrical emotion is While the song remains the same, and is one of the most loved by fans from Chasing Yesterday. Anyway there is still a lot to discover in Who built the moon, hope it's good and has some good old Noel emotion on it!!

So we might get some emotion afterall. I read It's A Beautiful World is anger-tinged, melancholic (in keeping with what Noel said about it being a sarcastic song about how beautiful the world is). I can't help but feel all the depth (hopefully) of the album lies in the tracks we haven't heard yet.

Getting a European cinema vibe from this chapter of Noel’s. Everything from his look, the new additions to the live show, having an “interlude and end credits” on the album. It’s all very Melville, Morricone, Alain Delon for me.
Great style.

It's A Beautiful Song. Complete with French monologue kindly provided by my wife! Awesome cover! This really highlights how strong of a tune it is. Your voice and guitar playing were top notch, the monologue was a nice touch too.

Went and picked up me N’castle ticket. Clearly states on front “Lead booker must present photo ID to gain entry”.

Like I said, the instrumental is what drives the songs. Somehow people forget about the lyrics to Some Might Say and fish in the sink and itching in the kitchen. Frankly his lyrics are fine now.

Everybody talks about a shit management because of the lack of promotion for Who Built the Moon?, but don't forget that one of his best songs (Alone on the Rope) isn't even available to get in a legal way.

Sure, sometimes he has a couple of good lines and there are even a few songs that are very good as a whole (Gas Panic!), but most of the time the lyrics are just kind of there, rhyme and don't mean a great deal. That's not to say everyone should be Bob Dylan or anything.

How crap is it gonna be when we get What a Life, Everybody's on the Run, In the heat of the moment and Riverman from the last two albums. I reckon While the song remains the same or simple game of genius should enter the set.

Oh and the electric set should be all HFB material with the old acoustic miniset in the middle bringing some old Oasis stuff

I think his lyrics in the past were far better, some might say’s lyrics seem to just work. It’s not so much the words. It’s the feeling they create. He’s starting to sound forced
