Because....why not? I think that if Noel had self-produced HFB (made them sound more like the b-sides from the same era), it would've blown CY out of the water. As they stand now...it's about neck and neck.

Noel should have left 5 years earlier than he did.

He should play Ballad of the Mighty I again, at least in Uruguay, in March

Noel should have left 5 years earlier than he did. Maybe not 5 years earlier, but after Liam went off and got married, instead of finishing the vocals for RM and COO. That should have been the writing on the wall for him, and what was to come with the following tour. In that situation, Noel could've pulled a Beatlesque move by putting out DOYS with the track listing that he had talked about (RM instead of AGN, COO instead of GOYHHL) with his vocals instead of Liam's. A bit of a dick move, yes, but it would've gotten the final point across to him.

"Lazy fucker, why don't you play BOTMI? Why don't you change your setlist? Why does every album take 3 years?", are thoughts that often appear in my mind

Noel should get his next album out by the end of the year.
He should start playing the original version of Wonderwall live again.
Chasing Yesterday is his best work since Be Here Now.

NGHFB has run it's course, it's time for Noel to go solo.
New touring band lineup will include Serge from Kasabian, Scott McLeod, and Phil Collins. Robbie Williams is rumoured to feature doing backing vocals on the new single: "Hymn for the Bonehead".

Huh, am I the only person who thinks Chasing Yesterday is the pits? Sure, none of it is hopelessly awful but it's so safe, so predictable. Every single lyric, chord progression, melody and sound is a cliche. If this were the 70's Noel would be Boston. Styx. Toto. etc. I wouldn't even call him "dad rock" at this point, more like "grandfather in a wheelchair rock." I keep thinking he's capable of more but maybe he's not. Oh well..................

I don't mind It's Good To Be Free at the top of any setlist.

I don't mind It's Good To Be Free at the top of any setlist. The electric version is top notch. The guitars are menacing and drive the song, but the keys set up an ominous atmosphere, and that solo... I'd love it if he'd play that version again, because I think it would go well right before EOTR or LATD. It's a nice lead-in song.

Can't wait to see him in March.
And also... hope he experiments a little bit more on his next one.. and that he really delivers it early next year!

If so I should point out "Experiments" and "Deliveries on Time" are not traits automatically associated with Mr G...

If so I should point out "Experiments" and "Deliveries on Time" are not traits automatically associated with Mr G... haha... one can only hope! call me crazy, but this time I kinda believe in it. The fact that for the first time, before releasing a new album, he said he wanted to take shorter gaps between releases, plus the fact that he already started production of the album with a new producer (probably David Holmes), give me high hopes. I mean, since he has an eclectic taste for music - sorta - I can only assume he'll try something slightly different on his solo career. I'm not talking about a 180 degree change... but a new direction, as he tried after Be Here Now with SOTSOG, in my opinion the best Oasis album in terms of production and sound. but again... these are only daydreams of a fan.

this gives me flashbacks of heathen chemistry and not in a good way, like a few songs on that album its very generic and the production is dull.

Some of Noel's strongest lyrics. I think it suffers from coming in succession of several songs that are similar in style, like Broken Arrow and Stranded on the Wrong Beach. Also, this is one of the main culprits of the drums bashing you in the head, I think. I kind of wished he had saved this song for chasing yesterday. I think it would have benefited from that type of treatment.
