I would've loved it if Liam came out with 'As You Were' in October and then a month later Noel came out with 'As You Weren't'!! LOL
That's not as funny now I type it out, still thought I'd share!

I wonder how experimental is Noel's new sound really? Will this thing go "Skrrrraaa! Pap pap ka ka ka! Skidiki pap pap! And a pu pu drrrrr boom!"?

Noel should bring back the loud, bellowing, yelling-at-your-kids-from-downstairs singing style we hear on Little By Little.

Noel has never eaten Phở.
Liam has eaten an egg roll within the past 6 months.

Noel should bring back the loud, bellowing, yelling-at-your-kids-from-downstairs singing style we hear on Little By Little. That style is exactly how he should've sang the Lock All the Doors and You Know We Can't Go Back choruses (especially the last chorus on YKWCGB)

I am very much in Liam’s corner so disregard as you see fit but:-
• Noel’s absence from the tete-a-tete: given his usual willingness to engage whenever he can make fun of/belittle/taunt Liam easily - makes his current state of omertà look a wee bit like he doesn’t want to engage with Liam unless he’s a soft target - which Liam is not right now, what with him being on a real upward curve. A classic sign of a bully if true.
• Noel’s apparent reluctance to release music prior to his tour going on sale could be interpreted as being the behaviour of a man who is worried that the strength/weakness of his upcoming material could dissuade his usual audience or anybody else from attending his upcoming live shows. This above point also applies to album pre-orders.
Discuss.

If he was scared the change in style would decease concert sales with fans he would not have released the clips. Noel mentioned that thiis album will up the energy of the gigs and I agree. He has mentioned that he can't sing the rockers which give energy to the concerts (rock in roll star, supersonic....). I think these songs will and maybe he feels this is the style which will fit his voice? I think it is great. It has been 20 plus years which must have been difficult to change the way he records and the music. I am looking forward to the album.

This above point also applies to album pre-orders. Discuss. I don't think Noel was ever insulting towards Beady Eye, and was quite supportive, more so than Liam was of Noel's music. And given just how utter shite Beady Eye were, then it's all the more remarkable that he was going out his way to compliment them. The personal barbs between the two go back and forth but they have done so for the last 20 plus years so how you insinuate this is beyond me. Do some forum members just make this up in their own minds? 'Noel's worried about Liam's material' 'Noel hates Be Here Now because Liam's vocal performance is great' (I mean seriously, what the fuck?), 'Noel's scared of his album commercially bombing' (erm, totally defying logic because if he was terrified of failure he'd have stuck to the tried and tested formula). These are the right belters I've read on here the last week or so. The only reality is there's two albums coming out that suit completely different purposes for them. As long as both are good, that's the only thing that matters. And it's lame to take sides.

My mate who has been my Oasis road warrior for years said "we can't get good seats fuck off" I sent him the clips and he said "WTF" I'll probably go, cuz I got the love. But I may be alone this time.

I don´t really like it that much live but i love Riverman´s studio version, specially when that guitar solo happens. What a tune, although i know it´s not a general opinion.

I think I literally only listened to this song once when it came out in 2015. Listened to it again today, and I'm surprised how pleasant a tune it is.

I haven't been following that closely - it's hard to keep up when your heart still bleeds Oasis, like. But are Gem and Chris permanent members now of NGHFB? And if so, did either play on the new album at all?(I sure as fuck hope so, the guitarist and drummer were both shocking). Again, can someone please answer this. Cheers.

The only people we know that play in the álbum so far are NG, Johnny Marr and Paul Weller. Maybe some percusionist but that might be a memory about the AA álbum sessions.

Yes, they opened for U2 last week, they played the same 10 song setlist, no new songs if you're wondering.

Took a listen to Chasing Yesterday for the first time since hearing Holy Mountain. As much as I love CY, I really hate how all of the songs are invariably midtempo. Listening to them is like walking through a thick layer of jello. Granted, this works very well for some of the songs (Riverman, The Right Stuff, and While the Song Remains the Same). But on the other songs, even though they're good in their current states, they're practically begging for the same jolt of energy that made Holy Mountain. Especially The Mexican. I used to love this song for how goofy it was, but today it sounds far too sluggish, watered-down with no punch, not nearly as much fun as it should've been. Makes you wonder what David Holmes would've done with CY.

Noel's interviews are super boring He became predictable and he plays it safe - all these stories about his wife and Bono... but at least his music is still good.

Always happy to crack wise on here - and it’s just too tempting when Noel promises experimentation then wheels out something resembling a Dire Straits studio outtake - but I genuinely hope the rest of the album is a lot better.
