Noels best solo tune dropped 2 years ago today Wow. Two years. Where did the time go? I remember just yesterday breaking down the teaser clips. Now it's been two years. Fuck.

I fuckin' love that video! Definitely in my top 5 Gallagher video's. Still an awful song.
I think Noel only came close / reached Oasis' level three times in his solo career: The Death of You and Me, While the Song Remains the Same and Freaky Teeth (Great song, really underrated and again a waste of a great song!!!)
I think Alone on the Rope is great too, but if it was a single or something, people wouldn't like it that much. It was great to discover a song like that wasted as Amazon bonus track. Just like it was to discover all those great b-sides in the 90's.

The Mexican has swagger despite dumb lyrics. Cowbell and sax over a chugging The Slider-era T. Rex rhythm... Don't mind if I do! (It's nice to hear someone else on backing vocals as well. Gets a bit samey just hearing Noel harmonise with himself all the time.)

I hope Noel will play She's Electric or Step Out on his next tour.

The last chorus of 'The Death of You And Me' is utter brilliance.

I sound like a broken record, but the Chasing Yesterday version is so tame and bland - the live versions from the original HFB tour was excellent, but I never listen to the album version. It's dying out for the Owen Morris brickwall treatment with Liam vocals.

It's been over 5 years and we still don't know what the deal is with "Alone On A Rope". I'd love an interviewer to ask him a direct question regarding it. Some of his best work since 2000.

Yeah, that really grates with me too. It sounded quite ethereal in the soundcheck but planted on top of clunky guitars and piss poor production on the record, its anything but atmospheric and just really annoying and repetitive.

Granted I never thought "In the Heat of the Moment" needed the intro Na Na Nas at all. Sounds so antagonistic. Song works so well live without it. You mean to tell me Noel couldn't find a way of doing this in the studio?

You mean to tell me Noel couldn't find a way of doing this in the studio? The Na na na's are my kids favorite part. I'm not even sure they know the proper title of the track, they always refer to it as 'Na na na'. It does come off as a bit lazy on the record though.

Those nanana's are THE reason why I never listen to In The Heat Of The Moment.

I have my suspicions though that the CY version wasnt recorded with the rest of CY rather just held over from the first HFB sessions, its basically a polished version of the original demo, he made changes to it over the tour such as adding in a piano etc which arnt present on the album version, the fact he was playing it on the first tour makes me think he was planning on releasing it at some point and then simply just used it as an extra on CY. I think its abit like supersonic tbh, couldve been pretty cool with Liams snarl over it.

I think he put those nananas there because he knew his fans would hate it and still buy the records anyway I love it - a nice fuck you to the haters who are still stuck on them after 2 years

That fan edit without the nanananananananananananana's is much better! I never realized how annoying they were until I just went back and listened to the album version. They really take away from the dance-y aggression of the drums, guitars, and electronic bass. Brilliant tune by Noel, but those nananananas, not quite..
