Of course not instead of Riverman. But I don't think Riverman is a good opener. Do The Damage is underrated on this forum imo, one of the highlights of the CY era if you ask me. 1. Do The Damage 2. Riverman 3. In The Heat Of The Moment 4. The Girl With X-Ray Eyes 5. Lock All The Doors 6. The Dying Of The Light 7. The Right Stuff 8. Whille The Song Remains The Same 9. The Mexican 10. You Know We Can't Go Back 11. Ballad Of The Mighty I Do The Damage is underrated on this forum? I think it's properly rated. Most really enjoy it.  Most people think that it is good that it is a b-side. I think it deserves to be on the album. |

Actually, I remove what I said about Do The Damage. It could be somewhere on the album, instead of In The Shit of the Moment, The Mexicano or Plod of the Mighty I.

If Noel's third album features tunes we've heard for years in soundcheck I'll be disappointed. Don't abandon the plans with David Holmes. Keep it all fresh and new.

this is pretty cool to listen to, Noels vocals echoing through at 1:46 could be good remix in itself. just makes me think how much cooler Noels songs could sound if he changed it up abit, hes got the voice for these spacier tracks. That's interesting that is, you can hear the little nuances here and there in the instrumental. The backing track shows hints of a psychedelic piece of music there. Sadly, it comes back to the idea that the final product is all a bit more drab than it should have been - shocking then that What A Life isn't even the worst recording effort on that album. I'm sure people get tired of this being said time and time and time again on this forum, but seriously, Dave Sardy is a horrifically abject producer. |

I think it has to due with the gritty-ness of the recording and that it is barely under 3 minutes which makes me want more every time it ends. |

I really like the albums Chasing Yesterday and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. (Although IMO CY is better than NGHFB) Contrary to what a few people think here from some previous posts, I think Riverman is a decent opener and a great song. Other standout tracks for me: Ballad of the Mighty I (This one grew on me after a while, Johnny Marr did great guitar work on this song because he's...well...Johnny Marr), Record Machine, The Death of You and Me, The Girl with X-Ray Eyes...eh y'know what, if I name all of my favorite tracks I'll pretty much be naming all of the tracks off both albums except for a few B-sides for both the first and second album, and a few tracks off the first that I haven't listened to yet but I'm sure I'd like.
Sadly I lost my CD for the album so I haven't listened to it in a while, although I did rip the tracks onto a flash drive and have put them onto various computers and a phone. (Yes, I still use CDs...)

One other note I forgot about, the end of Stranded on the Wrong Beach sounds like Champagne Supernova should follow it.
