How a discussion about that Russell Brand c*nt turned into another Noel VS Liam thing is beyond me

Is there anyway to avoid seeing the posts from the people you have blocked inside the responses of people you have not? Asking for a friend Unfortunatelly there isn't, but I know what you mean and how irritate it is.

Sorry but anything less than Noel coming on stage in tears, kneeling and begging the audience for forgiveness is unacceptable. Uh Remember when Liam sex-assaulted an air hostess? Tried to choke his wife? Verbally abused Sara? glass houses matt 😂 This place is mental sometimes.

Why is a perfectly good thread getting ruined by something that has next to nothing to do with Noel's solo output?

I've had Rattling Rose in my mind since I woke up this morning. Dunno why.
Underrated song though, it never gets mentioned around here.

Think of a number is an absolute stone cold classic this song gets better each time I listen to it, he truly hit the nail on the head with this song, it's just a shame it'll probably never get played live, it's like the big brother another classic wtsrts

It was 12 years ago yesterday since Noel released his dubet album.

Interesting. I'm happy to hear he feels the need to record these songs and get them out there so quickly. Exciting if it actually happens.

I'll believe it when I see it as Noel often changes his mind on things and he's lazy.

I can easily see him scrapping most of them. They were written during lockdown and his divorce so I think most will be sad or angry. I'm not saying he's going to scrap everything but I doubt he's going to keep the supposed 2 albums worth of material.

It must be about a year since Pretty Boy was released or at least coming up to the exact day.

Think of a Number and There She Blows are my 2 favourite Noel solo songs, they are just THAT good.

anyone else think noel is shying away from WBTM in his setlist, apart from DITW there is no other moon tracks in his current set at one point he was bangin on it was the best thing he ever done and now plays nothing from that era not counting WOOWN and FOTG as i class them as a stand alone songs after the eps but theres absolutely no cosmic pop anywhere to be seen

I do think it's true some fans don't like it but I don't think he's soured on it.

First, logistics. Based on what he played during the WBTM tour, He could play It's a Beautiful World but he'd have to cut Charlotte's bit and he couldn't bring her along just for that part. Holy Mountain and Keep On Reaching can't be played without the brass section and again you can't carry three musicians for one or two songs. Be Careful What You Wish For needs Ysée or at least an Ysée sounding singer. He could still play The Man Who Built The Moon though, Black & White Sunshine or If Love Is the Law though. Second, the divorce. Although he does play If I Had a Gun but he pretty much played it on every tour and it was a successful single. But I think him singing She Taught Me To Fly wouldn't feel right. If I Had a Gun also fits with the overall feel of the gig (my next point). Third, the overall feel of these gigs, like the record, is kind of gloomy. WBTM was more festive. So I think that might explain why certain WBTM songs were cut. And the finish product of WBTM is quite different to the older material as well. But I don't think he's either moving away from it, disavowing it or caving in to what he called the Parka Monkeys.

There's a genuine lack of energy missing from the live shows and Noel on particular. Watching the shows from 2019 and the energy is vastly different - the kinetic synchronicity of the band feels like a fully formed outfit. The Oasis tracks also are performed with much more energy then, like Little by Little. True, the album is more somber but the live shows this time around feel more like a solo performance vehicle for Noel, similar to the first two albums live runs. As if Who Built the Moon was where Noel was trying to finally get to with High Flying Birds, something that gives energy and uniqueness to every member in the group. That seems to have been lost this time around.

But I agree this time around, it doesn't look or feel as fun as the previous tour seemed to be (although the concert I attended in 2018 was boring as fuck, Noel seemed to be in a bad mood and didn't really speak with the audience plus it was a sunday... a sunday!!) The WBTM tour felt less like a solo tour and more as a band. There was cohesion and everyone genuily seemed to be having a great time.

Hopefully this world tour ends soon so he can get back to them. God bless.

Not the greatest solo live.
Acoustic live he is great. With the band it's a bit bland and his setlists have been pour into.

Love the harmonies with Noel and Jess on the album.
On Dead to the World, there aren't many but when she comes in at 'I'm so Tired', it just fits the song perfectly. They are also great it Love is a Rich Man.
