I wish he'd change all of his band line-up, apart from Gem. The same musicians for years as his 'High Flying Birds' is boring and cringe IMO, I want Noel Gallagher solo with different session players each album tour.

But on every album there has been at least one change in the main players of the album. Noel + Stacy Brothers and Mike Rowe on the debut and CY Noel, Jason Falkner(bass) , Jeremy/Emre Ramazanoglu (drums) and Keefus Ciancia/Mike Rowe(keys) With CS there's more of the live band in the album that were not part of the past three albums. Unless you mean the live band.

Started playing the piano and doing Dead in the Water and had a thought while playing it: Is it Noel's first break up song with Sarah ? The lyrics are very touching but not giving up yet, hence maybe why he never wanted to record it properly because he was thinking of saving his marriage ?
Might be one of the most honest song Noel's ever done. Now that the divorce is done maybe he could surprise us and release it properly.

DITW was recorded during the CY sessions, which means 2015. If things were this bad back then I suppose we'd would have hear it sooner about the break up. I mean, in 2018 he was still dedicating songs to hear on live gigs

Always thought it about his relationship with Liam tbh then the divorce announcement made me think of it differently, thought it could be about Sara. I'm inclined to think it about Sara now. Cracks can show early on and the marriage staggers on for years before it fizzes out. It's common. He could've still been dedicating songs to her despite cracks, he loved her desperately imo. Don't think he wanted the divorce.

You never know about other people's relationships but I didn't get the feeling they were doing badly at the time at all, which is something you could sense in the last couple or years It may be about something else, him reminiscing about someone, or he just wrote it putting together different things

Yeah i gotta say i never put any particular attention to lyrics but playing it on piano made those words ring a bit deep and not just a "general feeling" about relationships. More than on guitar. You never know about other people's relationships but I didn't get the feeling they were doing badly at the time at all, which is something you could sense in the last couple or years It may be about something else, him reminiscing about someone, or he just wrote it putting together different things True true. I just had a shattering glass moment yesterday. Could be a coincidence but always thought his reluctance to record it properly was weird. Maybe its because its an important song. Sounds to me like Noel didn't want to set this one in stone until the marriage was indeed over. Or maybe never record it because it represents the failure of his marriage years later. who knows. Just a thought. But a great song to play on piano !

Never even thought to look for a piano cover. Nice idea.

I don't know, he always said it was a special recording for him, highlighting the fact that he wasn't singing for anyone but himself and that made it special I believe his reluctancy has to do with the fact that he doesn't feel like he can quite capture that vibe with a studio version. It also became a fan favourite as soon as it droppen, so he's got everything to lose by re-recording it

Never even thought to look for a piano cover. Nice idea. Yeah playing a song on piano instead of guitar can give it a complete new life or vibe. I've been playing guitar for i dont know how long but i rediscover songs by learning them on the piano. Oasis tunes are quite simple to play on piano so you can easily relax and improvise, and improve. Its pretty cool. Noel should try someday a gig or tour without guitars. He's got enough material to make it magical. A bit like divine comedy did 10 years ago. It was just him and a piano. Obviously Noel would need Mike Rowe, but that would be a nice new way of playing the songs.

I have not listened to the record ever since the initial "buzz" release. Worrying ? That's how I work personally. I listen to it on the first days, then I lose interest. Then it can be weeks and then I listen to it again but repeatedly. I do that for any new record I buy. It's like my head needs time to process it. I didn't listen to it for a month and started listening to it repeatedly last week. But it's still not my favourite so I switch it up to other records from time to time. Not just NG but other bands. This usually doesn't happen when I love a record.
