Anyone know why the "Valentine's Day" cover by Noel has never been made available to purchase? Such a gorgeous rendition of that song, a shame it was a one-time-use-only broadcast

Love how he remembers it. For some reason i have become so accustomed through the years of Liam and Noel seemingly forgetting so much about Oasis like songs or things that have happened. Sometimes i shout at the screen watching interviews because i feel like i know more about the band than they do! A friend of mine met Noel last year and they were chatting about how similar a song sounded to I Got The Fever and i was amazed Noel even remembered that as well. Then you get him forgetting he's ever sang Live Forever live or reacting like wtf when Matt Morgan asks him about the "what for" bit of Slide Away. Ahhhh we love you Noel. Matt asked him about the 'what for'? Cool I'd love to hear about it even though Noel seems to have forgotten about it hahah

Juat worked out some kind of Best of HFB album and came out with this tracklist, decided to go with 13 songs for whatever reason:
Everybody's on The Run Flying On The Ground The Death of You and Me Mighty I What a Life Dead to The World Dead in The Water Riverman Alone On The Rope If I Had a Gun (acoustic) While The Song Remains The Same The Man Who Built The Moon Think of A Number
Not sure if the running order could work, I'll see when I try out
Could've made the cut: Broken Arrow, You Know We Can't Go Back (fell in love with it again), A Dream is All I Need to Get By, It's a Beautiful World, I'm Not Giving Up Tonight

Seeing as they have a book and new album out soon, I went down a Chemical Brothers wormhole this weekend and discovered this rarities list: forum.thechembase.com/index.php?topic=1043.0“Oasis - Unknown 94/95 song(s) Unheard and disputed - Noel asked Tom and Ed to remix "a Balearic-inspired track" of his in early 1994, but later changed his own mind about it. Years later, Tom and Ed admitted to turning down an opportunity to remix Wonderwall due to their inexperience in 1994. The Chemical Brothers played Oasis' Live Forever in a dj mix in 1995 with a drum loop introducing the studio track, which maybe represented an extremely early attempt at remixing it. Confusingly, this drum-loop intro was bootlegged as a "Chemical Brothers edit" of Live Forever. In summary, The Chemical Brothers once slapped a drum loop on Live Forever and turned down remixing Wonderwall, and probably neither remix exists.” Anyone know what Noel’s Balearic 94 song could be!? Jim?

There was also chat about the Chemical Brothers producing the Helter Skelter cover but it never went ahead.

Maybe they could produce a few songs for an EP, if Noel wants to put his dancing shoes on again in the future.

Dead to the World and Think of a Number are probably my two favorite NGHFB songs of all time, and I'd be cool if they were never played live. To me they are very 'artistic' songs, especially Dead to the World. It would be very hard to pull off adequately. If he were to do Dead to the World live, it would have to be full-on with Wired Strings and an accordion player. It can't be just a plain acoustic version. I feel like the song is so good, I don't want to hear a lesser version of it. I feel a poor quality youtube video would cheapen it.
I'd just leave it as is.

hot take: HFB / CY / WBTM? / CS beat any oasis album of the 2000s. yes i said it. The one where I would disagree is with HC singles or DOYS as a whole until the final 3 songs. Other than that Noel's stuff has been better than the weird democratically done Oasis post 2001.

hot take: HFB / CY / WBTM? / CS beat any oasis album of the 2000s. yes i said it. CY? Definitely. Too many excellent tunes, less fillers. The 2000-Oasis have way too many fillers, specially the songs written by the rest of the band. But the other albuns guess I'd had do some sort of ranking system. I mean, no matter how good Noel is, it's very hard to beat a good NG penned song sang by Our Kid.

hot take: HFB / CY / WBTM? / CS beat any oasis album of the 2000s. yes i said it. I'm with you on this. Less fillers on the HFB records, just more consistency and even variety I'd say. You could argue 2000s Oasis still had more iconic tracks but if you take the best of HFB the level is pretty even and some of those tracks would be as revered if they were released under the Oasis name. Now if SOTSOG had a different tracklist it could've been in the conversation, but those 3-4 bottom tracks really drag it down

hot take: HFB / CY / WBTM? / CS beat any oasis album of the 2000s. yes i said it. Chasing Yesterday and Who Built the Moon definitely. In fact I'd argue they're Noel's best work since Morning Glory. NGHFB is debatable - it's aged horribly for me but I wouldn't strongly disagree with it being better, or on par with the 2000s albums. Council Skies is a bit dull for me.

Noel really is at his best when his music is Ethereal. It's almost become the signature sound of his Solo career.. The winning formula seems to be Ethereal Noel, Female Vocals, plus Wired Strings.
