I like Noel’s vulnerability we’re seeing throughout this cycle. Whether it’s evident musically or in interviews. And it leaves me wondering if that was always what drew people to him, right from day dot. Yes. I’m right, aren’t I? And I think it appealed to me as a youngster because I - and many others - grew up in a very masculine atmosphere, where vulnerability was buried as deeply as possible. All very working class. Along came an artist who expressed longing and humanity and romantic fragility. But who did so in a way - lyrically at least - that was thinly ambiguous and never fully exposed oneself to… And Liam’s voice was both tender and abrasive. It all made for an openly emotional yet undoubtedly “safe space”. We’re vulnerable but we’re also fighters. I’m listening right now to “Trying To Find A world” and just cannot shake the feeling that we’re right back where we started.

It is, and it's probably what pretentious critics/music fans failed (or decided not to) see when it comes to Oasis

The attraction was always the tension between the singer and the songwriter, and between the bravado and the tender songs/lyrics. The end result was always the same - thousands of fans with arms around each other.

I think we’re seeing him revisit some familiar themes. Uncertainty, hope, wistfulness. He’s older now, of course. Not as angry. And less misanthropic.

According to SetlistFM, Noel has dropped Easy Now, added Half the World Away, replaced Love Will Tear Us Apart with Quinn the Mighty (Bob Dylan). He’s also played a verse of Take Me Away apparently. I’m going to see if I can find any recording of this on YouTube.

Might do better with the UK crowds.

You can tell he's been through a lot with the divorce and just wants to enjoy himself (in general too, divorce aside).

Yeah I was going to say this is really surprising! It's not the first time someone asks for something but it's the first time to my knowledge that he actually ties it (and he remembers it!)

Just looked to up Quinn the Mighty and found an Absolute radio performance of it from…2021! How did I miss that? I thought it was new.
And then I came across this - I know Noel has said he liked Bowie’s The Next Day album. I didn’t know this happened. Unless it’s a very good AI thing. Can anyone shed some light on this?

It was for a Bowie birthday special last year. ⚡️ live4ever.proboards.com/thread/93229/bowie-celebration?page=1

So much talking about bad production on If I Had A Gun but all that was actually missing was Liam on vocals.

I’m going to see if I can find any recording of this on YouTube. Love how he remembers it. For some reason i have become so accustomed through the years of Liam and Noel seemingly forgetting so much about Oasis like songs or things that have happened. Sometimes i shout at the screen watching interviews because i feel like i know more about the band than they do! A friend of mine met Noel last year and they were chatting about how similar a song sounded to I Got The Fever and i was amazed Noel even remembered that as well. Then you get him forgetting he's ever sang Live Forever live or reacting like wtf when Matt Morgan asks him about the "what for" bit of Slide Away. Ahhhh we love you Noel.
