A random thought. Who the hell thought that putting a pic of the Stacey twins inside the gatefold sleeve of Chasing Yesterday was a good idea? The same people who thought the cover of Chasing Yesterday was a good idea. The album was good, the art direction...not so much.

Chicago hasn't been selling the tickets. Yeah they shut off the lawn seating for the Saratoga Springs show up here in NY. Now it's inside only. Not a good look. Wish I hadn't rushed to get tickets, got gouged, and then could have gotten better or equal seats for $25 or whatever. Stupid. Just checked and the two seats next to mine are on the resale market lol. There's quite a few resale ones too. Sheesh.

Just a hypothesis on why U.S. ticket sales might be sluggish: I think, besides Easy Now, none of the singles so far have that Oasis radio-friendly "pop" + Garbage are a one-hit wonder IMO and rather bad co-headliner. At least with Smashing Pumpkins on the last tour there was a deep catalog of hits.

At least with Smashing Pumpkins on the last tour there was a deep catalog of hits. Garbage wasn't a one-hit wonder. They had Only Happy When It Rains, Stupid Girl, Push It, Special and Queer at the very least that got heavy rotation on MTV back in the day, plus probably one or two I'm forgetting as those were right off the top of my head. That said, both bands aren't driving sales quite enough regardless.

Chicago hasn't been selling the tickets. If anyone is wondering why Noel is "open" to the reunion now, here's a small but significant example. Why is he trying these larger open air venues for this tour exactly?

Why is he trying these larger open air venues for this tour exactly? Noel should have just did a few shows in the northeast, and a few shows on the west coast and that's it. I also think Oasis wouldn't have done too much better in the US. My guess is Noel wants to cash in on the big stadium tours in the UK and Ireland.

The same people who thought the cover of Chasing Yesterday was a good idea. The album was good, the art direction...not so much. It was almost like someone heard "In the Heat of the Moment" and thought of it as a way for Noel to become more modern and hip – then doubled down on it with the art direction.

I've always thought that the artwork for Noel's first album was pretty bad as well and I've never liked it.

I always have a little smile when i see some of the same posters who were there to laugh at every single Beady Eye ticket failure or sales figures then make every excuse they can for Noel doing the same.

Chicago hasn't been selling the tickets. Shocking considering that Chicago has (had?) long been an Oasis/Gallagher stronghold basically since Day 1. Plus 93-WXRT is one of the few Adult Alternative stations still playing "Easy Now" after it had brief run on the format starting in February - they've got it as their #2 most played this week and it's been in heavy rotation for months now. Quite a few people will have heard it on there. That station's core audience is probably is the exact kind of person who might go see Noel Gallagher and/or Garbage. I wonder what it is... Are diehard fans just getting bored with NGHFB music? Has his "grumpy old man" schtick in interviews finally gone too far (his covid/mask comments pissed a lot of people off)? Is it that the more casual Oasis fans can't be bothered anymore? Prices too high? Bad co-headliner? Lack of advertising? I get the sense that concerts are less of a "thing" post-covid, but it seems like they really missed the mark on this. Good chance the album doesn't even chart in America at all. Back in 2017, CD sales and digital downloads were still a decent proportion of tabulating album sales alongside streams. The way the charts are calculated now, streaming is the end-all be-all.

Part of me wishes for Noel not to get to number one. It seems to be one of the main motivations for his management and himself to simply 'get a number one' when it serves no purpose for anyone. It also seems to constrain the release times and, artistically, may prompt Noel into being too safe musically. Not to mention top heavy sales that will drop off a cliff the following week.
Living in the past as always and ultimately means nothing for nobody. I wish Noel would commit commercial suicide by releasing something like Metal Machine Music by Lou Reed and get that monkey off his back.

Problem with Noel is he isn't putting in the same kind of effort as Liam, who has the spirit of Oasis in his hands. Noel also feels more impersonal and colder than Liam. To top it off, Noel's release strategy is terrible. Pretty Boy was technically the first single but it came out like a song you'd get between album cycles to tie everyone over. Then, Easy Now and album details came out and generated a lot of buzz but where has that gone? It's been 4.5 months since all of that, plus we've gotten 40% of the album with the two singles since then. At least with Liam's stuff, it was album announcement in Oct. 2021, build the hype and buzz, first single in February, second and third singles in April and a single the day before its release and some big shows right after that.

They're not relevant in the US period, it's not a matter of trying, Liam's not even toured there because the revenue is not worth the costs If you're Noel you either find a bigger act to tour with (and maybe Garbage wasn't the best choice, but then it's also a matter of logistics), play even smaller venues (and it may still cost a fortune) or give up the idea of touring there, which doesn't seem to be an option because he loves doing it so at least he's still making the few fans across the country who are willing to show up happy
