Flying On The Ground is one of his finest solo tunes. It's weird cos none of the stuff he did in a while really had any staying power for me but this one is just filled with joy. Maybe slightly overproduced, but except for that, this is the Noel I love.

Noel is playing Audley End in August and support comes from The Zutons and Tom Meighan. Not happy about Meighan at all. That's no right decision. Noel should not let him do a support gig, no matter if they are still friends or whatever.

Old timers who haven't been around for years and the other a woman beater. Do something interesting for once Noel.

Anyway Confidence Man was about as adventurous as Noel's ever got when it comes to picking support acts and even that weren't great (in my opinion anyway)

To be fair, he's had Blossoms when they only had one record out, Confidence Man, Inhaler, Andrew Cushin, he had personally chosen Working Men's Club although they could never do it because of Covid, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard just off the top of my head Not saying these lot are revolutionary upcoming artists, but it's a bit ungenerous to claim he only gets has beens as supporting acts

Yeah, there's a few others that I can't think of off the top of my head right now, but I'd heard them on Soho Radio to begin with.

I know it's a bit off topic but yesterday I was reading through the comments in Noel's twitter and came across a profile from a clearly insane person claiming Noel is reading his/her mind, even pointing at lyrics on which both Liam and Noel are allegedly talking about it. It was quite scary and shows the kind of fans famous people have to deal sometimes.

Let's hope they're not dangerous for anyone and that they're getting help of course.

Going to see Noel at crystal palace park next July. Also seeing Iggy Pop and Blondie there earlier the same month. Hoping to get a ticket for Stiff Little Fingers in March. Life is good.

I just listened to 'Let the lord shine a light on me' for the first time in months. I had forgotten how great this song is. Probably his best B-Side with the High Flying Birds.

Strange decision seen as Noel was happy to bring up Liams altercation with Debbie when he made that cringeworthy comeback at Liam after the Anais WhatsApp saga. Wasn't actually bothered about potential domestic violence then, just wanted to land a low blow on his brother.

I don't mind the song at all but this shot of Noel singing in the MV for If Love Is The Law really just looks like footage of a really old tortoise trying to bite into a juice leaf sped up. Very distracting when I'm supposed to be enjoying the tune.

I was always baffled that he used We’re On Our Way Now as the song to promote/play live from the compilation, Flying On The Ground is far superior.

To me, Flying on the Ground is yet another case of Noel not realizing what he has and calling a really good tune a 'throw away' probably because it didn't fit into whatever his mind was set on creating at that time. Or maybe he just doesn't like it for whatever reason. I still think it's a great summer/warm weather tune. He clearly, in my mind, could have done more with it. It has that special nostalgic feeling that all the great Oasis tunes do for me. Moments on the other one do too but overall I enjoy FOTG more. Either way just dump more tunes out you lazy git.

Honestly I don’t need anymore Noel tunes like Flying On The Ground or We’re On Our Way or Wandering Star or A Dream Is All I Need To Get By. They are all a little too safe. Too low gear for me. I want some spunk.

I'm glad Noel got them out of his system but I agree, I want more spunk too. Pretty Boy is a step in the right direction and I really adore that song. I do hope we see more rock-centric production and songwriting that reflect the Bowie and Cure influences cited because that sounds super exciting.

HFB1 is a really good album but I wish Noel had reached for the stars and included Alone on the Rope, Let the Lord Shine a Light on Me and A Simple Game of Genius throughout it to really send a big warning shot in the post-Oasis era.
