Didn't much care for NGHFB1 when it came out, but now I love it.
Every time an Oasis-related album is released, people (mostly in the media) say "this one stands alongside the first two Oasis albums comfortably". NGHFB1 is probably the only album of the lot that actually lives up to that hyperbole.
Everything except for Everybody's On The Run. Never understood why everyone raves about it, it's pretty dull to me. Every other song is better.

I'm currently listening to Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds Best Of as I haven't listened to it since it was released. It does have some good tracks on it but I wish that there was more tracks on it from Chasing Yesterday.

I've just finished listening to Chasing Yesterday and it's still my favourite Noel solo album.

10 years ago today. NGHFB first gig. I was front row in Dublin. Was offered €500 for my ticket outside. Not a chance. Album went to number 1 and city beat Man U 6-1.

Noel's first ever solo gig in Amsterdam was 30th November 2011. Met him outside the venue and met him 7 years later again (same old grumpy bastard ) I remember hearling Freaky Teeth live for the first time. Good times.

Last night I revisted Chasing Yesterday and Who Built The Moon? and I enjoyed them both. Mind you, I haven't listened to them in a while.

Oh Noel... He has seemed happier in the interviews lately and not as grumpy as he was some time ago, but now I see he's in the press asking why climate protesters can't be legally run over.

9 years ago today I seen Noel live in Vancouver. He quite enjoyed himself, chatting and joking with the crowd in the front row. Barely an hour long with Snow Patrol playing after him for some reason, lot of people left after Noel was done. Some tears were shed during If I Had A Gun, such an experience hearing it live. I fucked up the clap bit in Half The World Away as I was too excited. I seem to remember Noel sticking around a few seconds longer than normal after Don't Look Back in Anger.
I really do hope I get to see him live again one day, living in rural Canada makes it really hard though.

I read that he's been moaning about them on Stop Crying Your Heart Out the other day. But these comments about climate protesters been run over are absolutely stupid.

Course it was, where else are they gonna get free Noel Gallagher quotes to post out of context as their own Thanks for confirming. Seemed likely given the timing. And yes, of course they do get instant quotes, but Matt and Noel are hardly unaware that this podcast-to-tabloids pipeline exists. Matt also can edit out anything he likes. Indeed, one of Matt's skills seems to be getting Noel to go on these very easily lifted soundbite rants, although depending on your POV, it also brings out the most boring and predictable side of him.

I know that they're aware, but Matt is hardly getting anything from it cause they don't credit the source and Noel seems surprisingly able to zone out from whatever gets said/picked up in the press or on social media unless someone gets it to him What buggers me though is that by taking quotes chopped and out of context (and this is the case) not only you sometimes paint a picture that's misleading, but also completely miss the vibe and tone of the conversation When you hear grumpy Noel, in this case ignited by Matt who agreed with him and actually brought the topic up, and it's 3 minutes out of 2 hours and a half of funny stories, dirty jokes and random stuff, it all gets lost in there

Still, have to say, this isn’t the first time Noel has had some words for climate protestors, so that’s apparently a thing with him (or at least a thing Matt knows will get him riled so he's done it twice ). Agreed that Matt doesn’t get much out of these gossip pieces if he isn’t credited, although that varies by the source (Sun never does, but usually NME and some others do). Noel, on the other hand, gets easy (and regular as clockwork) headlines out of it. In a sense it’s his version of Liam’s twitter. Keeps him in the news and lets him say his piece, such as it is these days. (And to be fair, in the end it probably only inspires young climate protestors to have a rich old establishmentarian like Noel set up as their foe in the press.)

It would be interesting to know if the protesters were protesting something that was important to Noel too would he still think it should be ok to run over them. Maybe they even discussed it more on the podcast, but I have a feeling Matt Morgan doesn't want to challenge Noel too much with his questions.

Noel does this to wind people up (Anais included I’d imagine) and keep his name in the papers when he doesn’t have any music out.
And you get the usual suspects on here wringing their hands.
Nobody actually gives a fuck what Noel thinks about these things.
