And his interviews?
I mean, I love his albums and Chasing Yesterday is brilliant in my opinion. The Ballad of the Mighty I is up there IMO.
But it's getting to the point where it is getting so fucking boring listening to him ramble on about the future of Rock and Roll and his opinion on the Working Class and this and that. We get it Noel, your hate everything that isn't the Beatles and Man City. Just shut up and record songs and oh yeah, mix up your live set you old git.
All he ever talks about is football, his new celebrity friends, what he hates and his wife.
At least Liam stays out of the Limelight. Yeah, I get it, he's not in a group but neither is alot of the idiots that make the Daily Mail showbiz section.
Noel's incessant need to have an opinion is wearing thin now. Your nearing 50, just shut up and do your job.

I'm definitely sick of Noel's setlists. I didn't even bother downloading that new Radio 2 bootleg from a few days ago, cos its the same old shit being played.

Personally I'm still a big fan of them, as are many others I assume. It's all part of the Gallagher package. I mean, didn't Rolling Stone just award him with a 'Worlds Greatest Interview' award or something? The questions he gets asked should certainly be more interesting and unique than they are, but this happens to all musicians. Noel's has given us more from his interviews than 99% of musicians out there.
No one's forcing you to read or listen to them. If you find them boring then just don't bother. It's like when people complain about TV programmes. Jeeze. Turn the fucking channel.

I wouldn't say I'm sick of him. Its more an indifference that comes with getting older and a bit wiser. I don't buy into his bullshit, he's not my hero and I came to realise that I know quite a few people just like him. He's a bloke from Manchester who's songs I really like. Nothing more, nothing less.

Why do people still think that he will change up his setlist a lot. Oasis never did it in all of the years they were together.

your hate everything that isn't the Beatles and Man City. . Dingies. I think that would more describe Liam really. Noel hardly ever talks about the Beatles these days. I do get frustrated that he is very lazy when it comes to set-lists etc but he is a breath of fresh air compared to the Ed Sheeran's of this world.

I still think he's good value in an interview. The interview on Parkinson in 2006 was brilliant but I take on board some of the comments above. He seems to hate any form of popular culture but people his age generally do. I'm 34 and grew up listening to Britpop and think that the music out now is nowhere near as good as it was when I was a teenager. But I'm sure people 10 years older than me think that The Jam, The Clash, U2 etc are all better than Oasis, The Verve, Blur, Ocean Colour Scene etc.

I think the 'grumpy old man' shtick is getting a bit old now, and what with him becoming so notorious for his interviews nowadays, he is in danger of becoming a bit of a parody of himself, I think. Having said that though, his interviews are genuinely brilliant for the most part, and it's just so refreshing to hear someone speak their mind in a world of Sam Smiths's and Ed Sheeran's etc. The OP is probably sick of hearing the same anecdotes and things that we've been hearing from Noel since he started promoting Chasing Yesterday last year, but after this next tour, when he buggers off for another two years and has a chance to restock his armoury of quips and anecdotes, we'll all be glad to see him again.

The thing is,Noel really has a way with words so his interviews are usually good anyway, but if he always talks about his celebrity friends and football and the state of rock and pop music is because he gets asked about those things Of course,if the questions are more interesting the answers will be as well (the You Made It Weird podcast and that interview some Swedish guy from here did are brilliant examples of this I think)

I have a simple solution for you, original poster : don't.listen.or.read.his.interviews
simple enough ? in a world where you have access to universal knowledge with the click of a mouse, you can whatever the fuck you want instead of listening to Noel Gallagher talking about anything or everything. so do it.
bonus thought : Noel is fine and is getting old perfectly. Unlike many rock stars.

He answers the questions he is asked, as most interviews are quite short it's inevitable that they mostly cover the same ground. When he sits down for the really long ones he is still better value than possibly any celebrity in the world. The Parkinson and that one he did for BBC4 around his first album were absolutely brilliant, but I don't remember him doing anything like that as much recently. I do wish he'd throw in a few other songs in his set list, but then I'm not paying any money to go see him either.

I get where you're coming from, and it's a valid point, but its so rare to see a rock star age well. Noel is the last of a dying breed. The US in particular has really warmed up to him and his music over the past five years. He's a great personality and yeah he repeats some of the same shit, but I mean its not like you have to read everything and if you do generally there's some pretty awesome one liners on other subjects littered in there.
Noel's an honest, uncut, and charming interviewer even when's he's doing his old man shtick.

In all seriousness he is limited in some respects to giving same or similar answers to the same line of questions in most interviews, and it beats the "it's amazing" shtick given by some of the more vapid stars of recent times. As the man himself said:

Media loves it too, but dudes who don't even a fuck and talk straight up to the media are great. Yeah i get that they feed the media, but I'm tired of people having bland opinions. Big deal if Noel doesn't like someones work. Its not the end of the world.

Why do people still think that he will change up his setlist a lot. Oasis never did it in all of the years they were together. I think Oasis did a decent job of shaking things up, especially in the 90s when they didn't even have that much material out. The number of songs Noel has under his belt now is ridiculous, I don't know why his set lists just keep getting worse as his back catalogue grows. They're his own songs I really don't think he'll find it very difficult to relearn them. He plays it safe ALL THE TIME and it's very annoying, i.e. dropping Ballad Of The Mighty I, not even attempting The Girl With X-Ray Eyes. And then there's the Ryan Adams version of Wonderwall which is NOTHING on the original.
