Honestly I never cared for Arctic Monkeys (I feel about them like most of people around here feel about Kasabian), but I'm just listening to their 1st album and it's aged pretty well.
Hope they deliver once again!

Immediate thoughts are that its alright.
The orchestral influence that remains from the first record is clear, but I'd put money on this song being mostly Miles composed - it's so much more like one of his than one of Turner's.

The lyrics are less meaningful, okay, quite shite considering Alex Turner is the best of the last 10 years in that with an incredible consistency of 6 albums plus 1 EP and half another album (Miles Kane's debut). But the instrumental part, the strings, the sax, the guitar (after the "Should've known, little girl that you'd do me wrong etc. part where Alex joins Miles in particular)... I really like it. It's quite crazy. |

It's quite crazy. The instrumentation here is top notch but lyrically this sounds like Miles Kane all over, none of the hallmarks of a Turner song so I wouldn't worry that he's lost it. It's got me very keen to hear what else lies in wait. |

the song has made me doubt them but still keeping hopes for the album, its not that the songs bad, just very average, especially for their standards
