I wouldn't say The National are longshots, given they've already been announced for a few festivals next summer I'm expecting the album to be out around then. The National have been playing random dates and mini tours the last 2 years. Doesn't meant new material is ready. Yeah but by next summer it'll be the usual 3 years between albums and they've been talking about new material recently so I'm very confident it'll be out next year.

Normally I'd agree but Matt has been very busy with EL VY and Bryce is busy with the Revenant score. Who knows. They got demos ready, they just need the time to record an album then map out its release.

Noel Gallagher's High Fl...nah, not really happening The Rifles have a new record coming in January/February which should be good - their last one in 2014 was pretty great. The Stone Roses would be awesome although I really don't believe it, Blossoms sound good...not much I know of apart from that.

Red Hot Chili Peppers' new album that they're working on at the moment.
With Danger Mouse at the producer's chair, and Josh starting to come into his own, I'm excited to see what this next album will be like. I'm With You was a solid debut for Josh, but he has room to grow, and I think he'll exercise that room this time around. I'm hoping he, and Danger Mouse, work together to bring something new to the band, while still maintaining the funk feel, because I think that they could be on the verge of something good, especially with such a well-known producer joining forces with them.

I have high hopes for any Pixies, Death Grips, Gorillaz and Future Of The Left releases and I'll certainly check out anything by Bowie, Massive Attack, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Primal Scream, Aphex Twin, Kanye West, RHCP and Radiohead. That said, (as unlikely as it is to happen) anything by Guns N' Roses would be an absolute godsend, for which I'd fight tooth and nail to get my hands on. I want 2 double albums and expect nothing less!

Lennon2217 pointed out some time ago that Travis have a new single out, here it is: I'm looking forward to the album. No idea when its out though. Listening to Where You Stand at the moment, its really grown on me. May be in my Top 3 Travis albums (The Invisible Band, Where you Stand, The Boy with no Name, then The Man Who)

I'd be interested to hear that. I thought I'm With You was alright, didn't love it but it was a fairly decent listen with some good tunes on it. I think listeners (those who care) will be more willing to let Josh be himself and go from there rather than keep complaining he's not Frusciante. Which he clearly isn't. But that's not to slate him, no one is quite like Frusciante! This will be their first album not produced by Rick Rubin since Mother's Milk, then. That's exciting. I think that's healthy. As good as a job as he does/did, its important to keep things fresh.

I used to be one of those people who was critical of Josh for lacking some elements John did, but with more listens, there is just something about his style that fits in with the Chilis. I kind of like that, but it also made for some poor mixing decisions in the end with the low-key style and Rubin's inexperience with Josh. This time around, I think Josh will have a better presence. His style seems more rooted in electronic music and darker influences than John's did, and Danger Mouse's style seems similar to that. I think those two will probably work together to produce something really good, and the rest of the band will form around that, but not without the traditional Chili jam sessions of course.

Daughter's new album leaked last weekend and is really good. Have listened to it 7 or 8 times now and much like their debut, it just keeps growing on me every time. It's not too dissimilar to their debut, maybe a bit of a bigger sound and has some songs which are much more direct and heavy compared to their first album. Certainly an early front runner for album of the year.

Until now, I'm only looking for the new RHCP album. Have been thinking a lot about them in the last days. "Red Hot Chili Peppers have completed the majority of their new album and in December were only waiting for Anthony Keidis to track vocals. Flea has called the new material “emotional” and the first single is set to be released in early February." www.alternativenation.net/top-10-most-anticipated-rock-albums-of-2016/

A new "xx" record. The stuff Jamie xx cooked up with his bandmates on his debut LP were brilliant. Bring it on boys and girl.
