Amy was made up of relatively known information. There weren't that many surprises if you were a big fan of Amy Winehouse. It was just done in an interesting manner.
With a band that's been around as long as Oasis has, there's not going to be many stones un-turned. These documentaries are always best for casual fans. It's not being made with super fans in mind. If I see some new footage that I've never seen, then I'll be fine.

And hearing Liam speak again about something else than small soundbites about football or pizza will be quite nice as well. If he tells us something new, that will be a bonus!

I agree. I will be disappointed if this is just another documentary ie "lads from Burnage become biggest band!" with the stories we've all heard 1000x times. I completely agree if Noel goes unchallenged it's just once again his version which we all know full well is full of hyperbole and half truths. In order for this documentary to be truly interesting, it is going to have to approach it from some angle we've never seen before. what new angle? bonehead's hair? Having recently seen the footage of Bonehead's ball and arse hair, that's an angle that doesn't need to be covered again I think.

Reading the below... I can't help but think that, like someone said before, the story will largely be told from Noel's POV and / or be quite heavily edited with Noel in mind...: He seems, however, enthusiastic about the forthcoming documentary film on Oasis. After meeting the director, Mat Whitecross, Gallagher was able to pick the production team. “They’re all great people and everybody was coming at it from a fan’s point of view,” he says. “The thing with the Oasis stuff, there’s no great revelation, it was all out there in the open. No one’s going to come out of the cinema and go, ‘Do you know what? I didn’t realise they took drugs, I am shocked to find out that they were all high’. “I think the story is we were the last great band to come along before the internet and it’s the contrast of how at Knebworth [where Oasis performed to 500,000 people over two nights in 1996] you’ve never seen the footage unless you were there because there were no camera phones, there was no social media. You went and you bought a ticket – and you had to be there. That’s the story. “It’s nearly finished mate. I’ve got to go and see a version of it when I get back to London. "I know a lot of research went into it. But to be honest this shit was getting made while I was putting a record together, so I couldn’t devote that much time to it. I don’t think it’s going to unearth any unreleased new music and even if it did I can guarantee you it would be ****. "I did 20 hours of interviews and so there were lots of things that I’d forgotten. I’d forgotten how insane a lot of that time was. “It brought back a lot of really fond memories of just being young, carefree and single. I’d forgot how big we were and the huge impact we made. Perhaps not so much on music, but on people’s lives. I kind of had to take a step back and say ****. m.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/14444440.Noel_Gallagher__We_spent_a_weekend_wandering_Bournemouth_looking_for_my_wife_s_old_flat/Thanks to daii for posting the link!

I just hope that Alan White contributed. Although its focused up to 96, so i doubt we'd hear anything about his departure or anything...

Liked Liam's Ferrari analogy (though could lose the "drive" bit - unless you're at the wheel of the tourbus, how do you drive a rockband?), think it sums 90s Oasis up quite well.

I wonder how much of the material used is actually, "The filmmakers have been given unprecedented access to the band allowing a rare and candid insight into their world along with never before seen archive material," and if it's actually never before seen.

So this is the poster then... S'alright, I guess. Has the Gallagher's looking moody, which I guess to many, is sort of their thing; makes a reference to the classic Oasis logo; and in City blue as well... Would have preferred they used this pic though: They look the bollocks here. That's probably enough Gallagher's-look-good/bad talk for one day. I should do something productive now. *checks 'Be Here Now Reissue' thread*

I would like to watch a documentary on the making of the BHN reissue. I am confident that we will get it by the end of 2039. God bless.

Thought on it over the last few hours, and I'm pretty chuffed so far. They've absolutely nailed it calling the thing SUPERSONIC - it's a much snappier title than Oasis: The Rock and Roll Band That Defined a Generation, which it seemed was the running title for a while; it's the name of the song that you might say started it all; and of course the definition of the word being something that is "greater than the speed of sound", it's probably the best way of describing their meteoric rise to superstardom (what the whole film's about) you could ever think of. So well done there, whoever came up with that. And I dig the shot. It's Morning Glory-era Gallagher's, so obviously it's awesome and cool as hell. Peak Noel hair, and Liam's wearing a jacket that reminds me of this one... ...which reminds me of possibly the greatest post I've ever read on here: "Typical Liam, wearing winter clothes in summer." (apologies to whoever's that was, but I can't remember your name). So that's nice. And I like that there's no faffing about with taglines and all that shite yet, just the shot, the film title, the director's name, and when it's coming out. Minimalist. And Oasis always were quite minimalist with their attitudes to things like sleeve artwork and their own artistry as musicians. And it doesn't half get me giddy seeing IN CINEMAS THIS OCTOBER. Maybe I'll fly me down to capitol city when it comes out, and try and catch the premiere...
