OK, I embellished it a bit in my memory: "DW: Are you the natural leader and decision maker? NG: I always assume that role. I'm solutions provider for this band. Liam drives it. If we were in a car, Liam would be driving and I would be reading the map." www.theguardian.com/observer/omm/story/0,,1507223,00.html God, I'm good!

I think there's a big chance that it'll be in the Melkweg Cinema. It's located in upstairs of the venue. Paradiso usually doesn't do with a film, but "Mistaken By Strangers", a documentary about The National was in Paradiso 2 years ago, so they could do it again with this Oass documentary.

'Amy' was in many Pathé cinema's. I really hope it though, I would love to see them on a big screen.

Sorry @tjalke, I edited your post above instead of quoting.

Oasis also don't have the greatest reputation here but you never know. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Don't know if it's been mentioned before but I wonder if there are any plans for an official soundtrack to be released alongside the film?
I know there was one released for Amy. Think it was a few of her songs and some other songs. Not sure if they were rarities mind you.

The Amy soundtrack had "unreleased songs & demos that were included in the documentary" en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_(soundtrack)I guess it depends on whether Oasis management want to give away rarities or hold them back for their own releases. The Amy OST seems to have loads of score tracks which I can't see being the case for Oasis, but they could use other 90s music I guess. If they do go down the OST route though, does that mean Knebworth / BHN get pushed out even further...?

Apologies if this has already been picked up on, but something from a few months back:

Interesting that, about Liam and Noel approaching the producers, and not the other way... Suggests there is a grand (or, you might say, master)plan to celebrate the anniversary of Knebworth properly after all .
Don't know where that puts the Be Here Now reissue, but you'd think if they're going full pelt to promote Oasis over the coming year, and Noel's still willing to put it out (as he was last year, according to his Reddit AMA) now'd be as good a time as any. Could see Noel being a c*nt and putting it in for the January sales.

This ^ Really surprised to learn that Noel got in touch with them rather than the other way around. Didn't think that's how things worked with this production team etc... Oh well....

Re: international release / screenings, just found this. Dunno how reliable the site is etc but presume it means that the doc will be screened in German cinemas? Maybe German members can shed light? Protagonists are listed as Noel, Liam, Bonehead and Guigsy.... www.filmstarts.de/kritiken/242559.html

Maybe German speaking members can shed light? Protagonists are listed as Noel, Liam, Bonehead and Guigsy.... www.filmstarts.de/kritiken/242559.htmlI don't know that site, but it only says that the starting date is not yet known. This does not strike me as very trustworthy: www.filmstarts.de/kritiken/242559/castcrew.htmlSeems like they picked the wrong Paul McGuigan or he has not only changed his looks but also his career ... "Dokumentarfilm, der sich dem Phänomen der Rockband "Oasis" nährt. Im Fokus des Filmes stehen die einzelnen Musiker der Gruppe und der Versuch einer Annäherung, um herauszufinden, warum die Band aus Manchester zu den besten Rock-Gruppen aller Zeiten zählt... " Documentary about the phenomenon of the rock band Oasis. The focus of this movie are the musicians themselves and the attempt to find out why the band from Manchester is among the best rock bands of all times. Freely translated. Sorry for the correction in the quote, could not resist. #austrian But I'd hope for it to be sold to the German market, so then we might get it as well. Would be lovely to watch that in a cinema and then get the DVD that there surely will be.

Another article with a sad detail: www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/noel-gallagher-snubs-brother-liam-7984120> But while Liam, 43, went with girlfriend Debbie on a private jet, Noel, 48 , refused despite having a break in his touring schedule. A source said: “Liam doesn’t have a bad word to say against his brother but Noel doesn’t seem to want to make peace. “It’s a shame and causing a logistical nightmare for the documentary’s creators.” < Yeah, I know, tabloid alarm etc. but it does not sound too off, does it? I wonder what they'll do about the premiere?

FFS Noel, get yer lazy bum in yer private jet and go, biatch. Also, "Liam doesn't have a bad word to say against his brother". Yeah right. But let's not go there.

Mildly embarrassing that Noel approached him to make the film not the other way round. Quite an odd thing to do, no? Certainly seems out of character. Makes me wonder what his motive is. Noel's a sneaky fucker and always has ulterior motives.
