FYI, all the NYC/ Brooklyn peeps... Supersonic is going to be having daily showings for a while at Village East Cinema.
Beautiful theatre by the way!! I'm definitely going to go again, prob by myself so I can get all the details I may have missed because I was in a total euphoric state the first time. Hoooorahhh!

There's been some talk. I saw a blurb in the New York Times yesterday.
Also, since it was a one day event, there's no sense in promoting it now.

Just came home from witnessing the first German screening, Liam and Bonehead (and one of the producers) did a pre-movie Q&A and they were on top form, as always. Great audience as well. Surprisingly young and very frenetic. That was quite a moment when Liam swagerred past me, while walking down the stairs to the stage. He's got some presence, that man. The movie gets even better with repeated viewing too, didn't really notice HOW funny it really is the first time. I was really reminded of Spinal Tap today.

I'm so excited to read that there may be a sequel to the documentary! There's also 10 hours worth of material that could not be included in Supersonic. I felt like it was too short and I could have sat through at least another hour!
Billboard interviewed Mat Whitecross about a potential sequel and this is what he had to say:
Praise is being heaped on Mat Whitecross and his revealing documentary Oasis: Supersonic's intensive examination of the group's lighting first two and a half years, culminating with a pair of shows before 500,000 fans at Knebworth. But there's another 13 years and five albums that came after that, and Whitecross would love a crack at telling the rest of the story at some point.
"Liam is keen for doing it, and I'd be up to do it," the director tells Billboard. "It'd be a tricky one. It'd definitely get messier, and have a bigger cast of people. But it would be easy to illustrate because once you become big, once you're a stadium band, people are more keen to stick a camera in your face. So there'd be plenty (of footage) to work with. I'm up for it if anybody else is." There are, however plenty of potential pitfalls to a sequel.
"At that level the stories become quite similar in some way -- get on a big plane, travel somewhere, they stick you in a car, you go to the stadium and then back to a nice hotel. So maybe it's not that interesting," Whitecross says. "We'd have to do some research and see what's there. But I do love the later albums, so I feel like it would be worth doing."
Before that, however, Whitecross is hoping for a chance to do a longer director's cut of the film, bringing back excised Supersonic sections -- such as a look at how Oasis broke big in the U.S., and at the tumultuous North American tour that followed the triumphant Knebworth shows. "I'd be happy to sit through the 10-hour cut again," Whitecross says with a laugh. "We do have a lot of really great stuff, visual and audio, some lovely moments that just didn't fit. I spent two and a half hours with Noel (Gallagher) just talking about the craft of songwriting."
"So we'll see," Whitecross continues. "Nobody's said anything yet. I showed Noel a two-and-a-half-hour version of the film, and his first comment was it was too long. He said a film about a band shouldn't be longer than the greatest hits, which is fine -- although I did point out their greatest hits is a double album."

Just met Liam and had a beer with him Album should be out before/in summer, recording is not quite done yet but it's in the making, Bonehead 'might be a part of it' but there will be a few more surprises, can't say anything about live right now. I'm gonna write more tomorrow but this could be interesting I thought What a great night! Saw the film the 3rd time now and could just watch it over and over again. Brought a friend who wasn´t that much into Oasis but he loved the movie too and said he will check out their albums soon As for meeting Liam, we met him in a pub near the cinema, Bonehead was also there with a few other people who I don´t know. They both looked ace. Liam wore a Loch Lomond look alike jacket, Bonehead wore some fur jacket looking like... I don´t know We asked them for an autograph and Liam said we should take a seat. So of course you don´t say no to that. After some smalltalk about the movie I asked if he could tell me something about his new album, he said that there are 14 songs which have potential to go on the record but it´s not finalized yet. He wants to release it in summer next year or maybe a bit earlier. He will tour it but he doesn´t know yet who else will stand on stage with him. He asked if I can play an instrument and I said I just can put my arms behind my back and act like him - he replied that that´s already his part and one like that should be enough on a stage Then I asked who records the album with him in the studio but he said he can´t talk about that right now "but the bald guy over there" (Bonehead) might help him out once in a while but we won´t be disappointed and there might be a few surprise guests. Also asked Bonehead what he´s up to at the moment and he just said he´s just enjoying reliving the 90s with this movie and having a good time with Liam. Before they had to leave for an interview Liam brought us another beer saying that´s for not asking about Noel or a reunion Already met him a few times and also had a few chats with him already and he always was a great guy but this was probably the best time. Fun, honest, polite - what a guy!

Contemplating whether I should just buy it off iTunes or drive down to Miami this weekend. I think this is the reason they haven't announced a DVD release date and waited till today to suddenly drop it on iTunes. They didn't want to discourage anyone from seeing it in the theatre. I suggest going to the theatre. It's quite an experience on the big screen.

Noel is always so scant on his actual songwriting method. His typical, "it just falls out the sky" explanation leaves much to be desired because it's mostly b.s. He went into a bit more depth in the Isle of Noises, a fantastic read in general. But I've been wanting someone to really push him on what his actual method is to his craft. Especially, his ability to arrangement multiple instruments on his own.
