What a time we as Oasis fans live in. Take a step back and enjoy it. So true. We are taking this for granted but this is a great time for us fans. A couple of years ago we thought Liam would fade away from the music scene, now he's about to release a promising first album and Noel will release an exciting experimental one. Good times.

A new remix of D'You Know What I Mean, the Mustique demoes, an amazing Oasis film, a resurgence in Liam's popularity and career, and seemingly a genuinely experimental album from Noel. I mean, this shit is unreal.

FUCK ME FORT KNOX IS EPIC. Is it the first song in the clip? If so, I completely agree with you. Just like somebody else already said, this new album will divide Noel's fan base as it might be nothing similar to his previous albums, but since his collaboration with AA failed, the sound like KNOX is what we've been waiting for years.

Not trying to make the Liam VS Noel thing again, but am I the only one who is absolutely hyped about Who Built The Moon over As You Were? Could it be that this time,Noel is doing something different and Liam is just doing his thing. Or maybe is because the wait for As You Were its been too long and we know 75 percent of the record. But in just a day,I just forgot about Liam album is coming. A user said that this is gonna explode in a Liam vs Noel war and I think its quiet right. Just look on twitter, the same bullshit over and over again. I just try to enjoy them both but 6 months of waiting its been collapsed by a 2 minute video by Noel. And that is saying something. Sorry for my bad english! Cheers

It's about time that Noel finally tries something new as it's his 3rd solo album and Liam is finally back on the track after 3 years break. Who could have imagined this? We'll get both albums, one next week and the other one in November. This is a great time for all the Gallagher fans. Let alone twitter "fights" and all that. I want their music and I want to enjoy both of them.

If you wanted straight rock, you'd sort of have to be more excited about Liam's album because Noel isn't going to give you that, and he doesn't want to. They're not even in the same genre anymore.

Liam's won over some new fans and Noel may get some new ones himself with this new stuff and those newer fans (and casual fans) won't care about the rivalry that much or at all.

Sorry for my bad english! Cheers As You Were - starter Who Built The Moon - main course I'll enjoy both. I've enjoyed Liam's tunes (aside from the dirge like For What It's Worth) but they haven't wowed me. Like a Travis album, I'm going to get a pleasant warm glow from it. Nothing more, nothing less and that's fine, you need albums like that. But I'm dead excited for the Noel album now - what I hear is how I've always idealised a dynamic, modern and varied album from an Oasis related release. It's been easy to imagine because as most of us can point out, Noel has history in dabbling in something different (whether that is with Oasis, Chemical Brothers or solo), and he's always pulled it off spectacularly in my personal opinion. But these are nuggets of gold that have been scant throughout a 23 year career, which has purely relied on the genius of his early songwriting. This feels like one of those moments whereby you can really look forward as a hardcore fan and continue a long musical journey you've experienced with your favourite artist, rather than look misty eyed into a past that isn't coming back again. I don't think I've ever been this excited for a Gallagher related release in my decade as an Oasis fan.

Depending on the first single, and I think this is going to really hinge on the first single, I think Noel is going to pull in some good first week sales.
His marketibg team already seems to be marketing this as a Noel as you've never heard him before type deal. I think they'll reel a decent amount of people in based on that gambit and if the first single matches it.

Like the sound of the tracks. I'm sure people were worried about The Beatles changing sound and I'm sure they lost fans to it too. My dad brought me up on bands like Rush yet he hates their 80s albums. You can't like everything but I'm sure NG will win a lot of new fans by taking the leap. Reminds me of this tune. Massive! Amazing band mate. Personally I love everything they did until 91 and then Clockwork Angels was an amazing comeback. Shows there's still life after 60!

Is that Björk's voice at the end of the trailer? It's sounding familiar anyway. I can't put my finger on it.

I was listening to the demo version of Columbia today, and it made me hope that Noel would maybe one day write an album in that style again. Loud guitars, unpolished sound. But maybe you make records like that only when you're young.

Liam's new songs haven't really been ROCK either. Yeah, there are distorted guitars in some songs but it's still lacking some edge. I haven't felt any raw energy in those songs apart from Liam's vocals and it's a shame. Wall of Glass sounds like a pop song trying be "Rock N Roll". I like it, though.

The video and the overall vibe are making me very excited for this one. Much more so than when I heard In the Heat... Hopefully the songs and voice will be there. Ultimately, I don't care too much about how an artist chooses to dress up his tunes, so long as there are, in fact, good tunes there. Well, a Noel reggae album might be a bridge too far... Let Liam enjoy himself with the 'classic sound' (and classic teenage disses). Noel's voice will never match his for the rockers ( as was obvious on Lock all the doors, which I still like). March 2018! Dallas, Texas will be ready...

Didn't get that based on these 3 songs, and going by the upbeat theme of these clips , maybe there won't be any on the entire album. But extremely excited by what I have heard.

The ability for a musician to take your mind to a physical place, as well as an emotional one, is for me one of the defining traits of a truly great artist. Those acts that can fire off the imagination are really special. Noel at his best has always been the go to guy for an emotional catharsis, whether it's an epic weepy or upbeat and joyous tune. In particular, I think he is the only artist that can do pure joy and happiness without feeling insincere. That's probably the hardest thing to pull off for any songwriter because it either comes off as contrived or downright cheesy in the majority of cases. And Noel's songs are the shot in the arm you need whenever you feel down. Nobody does it better than him and nobody does it quite like him, and that's why you can only laugh and cringe at his pale imitators of him who just can't get it right. I can't quite explain why but it's most likely due to his supreme melodic abilities, of which he is in the top three greatest melodists of all time in music history (personally topping it).
However, when the emotional input of his songwriting has failed and it has felt contrived, that's when Noel has begun to falter. And he never really sought out different methods of doing things when he was faltering and that is a real shame considering that, for me personally, his greatest moments since the 2000s have been those songs that take you on a journey to a physical place as well as an emotional one. Gas Panic for me conjures up cold, dark, sinister and ghostly imagery that complements it's moody melody and that really drives home that sense of paranoia and insecurity. He totally nailed that spectacularly and the versatility of that song is shown in both the studio and demo form; it works perfectly with Liam's piercing and menacing vocals and it works well with Noel's more hushed and insecure vocals on the demo. Either way it hits the spot.
So the build up to this album has privately intrigued me more than anything since I've been an Oasis fan. And now that we've heard snippets, my expectations have gone through the roof. The way this works is that it is supposed to be dampened by hearing 'not another (INSERT CLASSIC BRITISH ARTIST) pastiche' and 'not another pale Oasis retread' etc etc etc. But there's nothing that jumps out and screams derivative to me, because this sounds genuinely other worldly to me. The psychedelic imagery that accompanies this is looking spot on because the music and melody is sounding very colourful and vibrant.
The Beautiful World chorus is stuck in my head - a bizarre mix of joy and mystique. That understated vocal reminds me of something Bono would have sung with 90s era U2 (which is a great thing). There's an ethereal upbeat vibe to it - ethereal AND upbeat? That's a trick to pull off and the contrast between the verse and the chorus makes it what it is. But more importantly, it doesn't sound like any melody Noel has written before - I think Holmes may have done a fantastic job prompting Noel to explore different melodic ideas by the sounds of things. And what a weird vocal effect on Noel as well. That's proper psychedelia there without any naval gazing pretensions that psychedelic music can so easily fall into. That's his melodic sensibilities coming to the fore - drawing back the listener to make it wondrous but accessible at the same time. It sounds amazing.
And do I detect a hint of shoegaze in She Taught Me How To Fly? The propulsive rhythm and the distorted vocals that are relatively low in the mix conjures up the psychedelic blizzards I get from My Bloody Valentine. The tune does indeed fly and sounds like it's going to be a right endorphine rush! Can't help but think of things like that psychedelic flight across the mountainous Jupiter in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The colour and vibrancy of these snippets, and the subtle dynamics you can pick out whether that is a vocal effect, a drum loop or a riff layered beneath other sounds means this album is going to be a real feast, picking out snippets here and there that you may have missed on first impressions. The accompanying imagery of the album artwork and the 2 minute advert seems to be perfect. It seems like it actually fits the music from what we've heard! This is pure escapism, just what the best music should do! This isn't a tease like the Dig Out Your Soul artwork - remember when that was unveiled? Don't judge a book by it's cover, or more accurately an album by it's cover, because that amazing artwork unfortunately did not go well with the rather stodgy and bland music that was contained in that album.
I think this is gonna be a belter of an album. Cannot fucking wait and it's a great feeling that after ten years as an Oasis fan and thinking the fandom had dissipated to be quite brutally honest due to a constant string of solid but unexceptional albums (from both Oasis and post-Oasis), that this is making me feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. With so much going on in the Oasis universe, none of us are gonna get bored.

Another good sign for this album - Noel has not been over-hyping it and making crazy statements. The Greatest Song I've Written. Sounds like Led Zeppelin meets the Beatles with a 100-Piece Symphony.
