What's wrong with FWIW, like? I think it's brilliant we've got both Liam and Noel releasing stuff. Liam's album will be a rocker and the gigs will be mental. Noel's going in a different direction and has the talent to do so. Hopefully him and Holmes have complimented each other and it'll work well. Why can't people just be happy? It's been a great year to be an Oasis fan ever since Supersonic came out, and the BHN reissue. Hopefully, the end of 2017 and now next year is going to continue that. Doesn't Liam's album have only what, 2 rockers on it? Personally I'm really happy we're getting both. Liam has had help from other writers, which I've always wanted for him and Noel has experimented more with his sound and production, which I've also always wanted. However, I'm not gonna lie. I AM more excited about Noel's album. That also has to do with the fact that we haven't really heard anything besides the short snippets. Roll on October and November. I mean the general vibe of the album. I'm with you that I'm more excited for Noel's album, though as you say that's partly down to the mystery around it.

i'm wondering if some of these tracks have been reworked/salvaged from that scrapped AA album.
very excited for this one, this is the one i have been waiting for, i think. THIS is the way DOYS should have sounded, in my opinion. 'throwing the kitchen sink at it', eh, noel?

Yeah the previews kinda sound like those records although Primal Scream didn't drown their guitars and vocals in those silly 80s reverb and echo pedals. That's what i dislike about Noel latest efforts : the songs are there, the experimentation seems to have worked this time, but there's no need to hide everything with millions of effects. Recently, the lennon claypool delirium managed to make a pretty weird experimental record with a very dry sound, for instance. Reverb and echo is always a risk, coz you can end up sounding like Coldplay. I don't want to sound too nerdy here, but it might be like this because of Noel's recent equipment change. E.g. he's not using Marshall amps anymore, instead of this he switched to Hiwatts and Fenders. The former has no built-in reverb, so now Noel has to rely more on pedals. He also decided to go full-boutique with his gear, so you have stuff like Catalinbread Echorec delay or Strymon Flint reverb. It's not you usual "Boss reverb + Tubescreamer" setup anymore. Also, Fenders are well-known for their clean tones, so no wonder Noel wanted to experiment with his pedalboard. Wait, i have a fender amp with built in reverb, what amp is he using ? Echoes and reverbs are always a bitch to make sound right, i rarely used them when i played in a band (also because quality pedals are fuckin expensive). In the end, it's all a matter of taste i guess. Noel went for the 80s sounding guitars because he wants to make a danceable record, something he already begun to exploit on CY. Clearly an influence from Sarah here (remember Lord dont slow me down). I'm not a fan of heavy-effected guitars. A good guitar part usually doesn't need it. It's the playing that is important. When played on real speakers and not on laptop speakers, Fort Knox, apart from that stupid doorbell, sounds very promising. The drums and bass are sick.

That was another comment I was waiting for
But I have to say it was a lot more polite than I was expecting. Fair play

I'm usually very polite except with a certain someone on here Well it cant be denied though ? Thee way he's dressing, the way his music his heading to... It's not a bad thing to be influenced by your loved ones ? Maybe she exposed him to some new music, who knows ? I dont mind it, if she is somehow responsible for Falling Down, What a Life... then good. The Mighty I, not so much

They have no reverb. As for his Fenders, I think he's currently using Blues Junior and a '68 Custom Twin Reverb.

If I had to condense what I want from Noel in 2017, those first 30 seconds would be my reply.

The music on the trailer sounds shit This coming from a guy who likes FWIW sounds almost like a compliment. Seen this a few times in this section today. Some people may actually prefer For What It's Worth to what they've heard on the trailer, that doesn't make them inferior to anyone else. Get off your high horse for fuck sake.

Also anyone who has played the game Majora's Mask, please tell me the beginning of Fort Knox reminds you of the whole Skull Kid/Moon parts of the game.

I do get the feeling that I've heard the verse melody of Beautiful World from Noel before though, is that the case?

Also anyone who has played the game Majora's Mask, please tell me the beginning of Fort Knox reminds you of the whole Skull Kid/Moon parts of the game. There was also a game called Skull Kid, in which you kill people with a chainsaw, which has an instrumental version of 10cc's Dreadlock Holiday playing on loop in the background. As a kid I used to play that online. No idea why I'm telling you this.

That's actually the one I find most interesting from the clip.
