I hate football, beer, and Universal Gleam is not my favourite song. But As You Were is a very great album! Sounds like the Best Moments of the Oasis. Liam isn't an artist for teenagers like Coldplay, NG, and Gorillaz. A true Oasis fan would not appreciate it. I know why people would say that but it assumes that "true" Oasis fans have limited music taste and only like rock'n'roll - and that's not a fair assumption to make.

Also, doesn't "true" Oasis fans include people who love Noel Gallagher's songwriting, which is what his solo stuff is all about??

A true Oasis fan would not appreciate it. yes, and should I drug? I don't care nothing about beer or football. I love the "look" and Oasis sound. You totally don't get the irony, do you?

I really hope Noel didn't fall into the U2/coldplay vortex.
there's some interesting sounds in the previews, but the vocals are a bit meh. I wouldn't mind a gorillazesque record with Noel sense for melody. Also, we cant hear the bass properly but it seems they are heavy high on the mix.
The one i Love sounds like a 80s pastiche though, sorry.

I've been listening a lot to 'Chaosmosis' and 'More Light' recently and - judging from the snippets - Noel's new tunes wouldn't sound out of place on these albums.

I see 'God Help Us All' is the bonus track.
Noel has referenced previously that he was working on 'She Must Be One Of Us' for these sessions as well.
So, hopefully, those two plus 'Don't Stop' will make up the b-sides/extra bonus tracks (on top of 'Dead On The Water')

I feel like it has a sort of Primal Scream feel from their later work is fine by me! Super super super different for Noel and I think that's a good thing with Liam's solo work out. You couldn't mash the two solo albums together and come up with an oasis record. Haha.
I hope more of his melodies come out in the songs but so far so good......I'll reserve "this is amazing" for when I hear a full song though. Could go off in a sour tangent or somewhere absolutely brilliant.

Just saw the album trailer! Loving the visuals, the pic of Noel makes him look like the coolest f***ing guy on the planet. The first track with "you've gotta get yourself together" sounds good, really different! As for the rest...mmm...I will reserve judgment until I hear the final piece! Well excited though!!!!!! holy shit !!! looks and sounds amazing. and imagine that we don't have to wait several months for the actual album to arrive? so unlike noel

Sorry, he hinted last year (in the wake of Bowie's death) that there was a song that was going to be 'on the new album' (paraphrasing but it was along those lines) that used the 'wooohoos' from The Jean Genie. 'SMBOU' definitely uses those woohoos, so he certainly hinted at it. Whether it is actually included within all the bonus tracks remains to be seen, of course. Personally not sure it will fit with the 'theme' of his new songs, but since God Help Us All has been confirmed as a bonus track, I hope we get to hear a finished version of 'She Must...' and 'Don't Stop' as well

Also, I fucking hate it so I hope it never ends up on any album or as a B-sidd.

Yeah the previews kinda sound like those records although Primal Scream didn't drown their guitars and vocals in those silly 80s reverb and echo pedals. That's what i dislike about Noel latest efforts : the songs are there, the experimentation seems to have worked this time, but there's no need to hide everything with millions of effects. Recently, the lennon claypool delirium managed to make a pretty weird experimental record with a very dry sound, for instance. Reverb and echo is always a risk, coz you can end up sounding like Coldplay.

The ones in SMBOU are literally lifted from Jean Genie, which is what he said. Anyway, if we don't get to hear it, then it's no massive issue. Excited to get the full version of God Helps Us All, though

Aaaaand here are the Liam vs. Noel people
We should all be beyond thankful that both artists are releasing (most likely) amazing albums this year. This could be the most exciting year for us Oasis fans since... God knows when.

The music on the trailer sounds shit This coming from a guy who likes FWIW sounds almost like a compliment. What's wrong with FWIW, like? I think it's brilliant we've got both Liam and Noel releasing stuff. Liam's album will be a rocker and the gigs will be mental. Noel's going in a different direction and has the talent to do so. Hopefully him and Holmes have complimented each other and it'll work well. Why can't people just be happy? It's been a great year to be an Oasis fan ever since Supersonic came out, and the BHN reissue. Hopefully, the end of 2017 and now next year is going to continue that.

Doesn't Liam's album have only what, 2 rockers on it? Personally I'm really happy we're getting both. Liam has had help from other writers, which I've always wanted for him and Noel has experimented more with his sound and production, which I've also always wanted. However, I'm not gonna lie. I AM more excited about Noel's album. That also has to do with the fact that we haven't really heard anything besides the short snippets. Roll on October and November.

Reverb and echo is always a risk, coz you can end up sounding like Coldplay. I don't want to sound too nerdy here, but it might be like this because of Noel's recent equipment change. E.g. he's not using Marshall amps anymore, instead of this he switched to Hiwatts and Fenders. The former has no built-in reverb, so now Noel has to rely more on pedals. He also decided to go full-boutique with his gear, so you have stuff like Catalinbread Echorec delay or Strymon Flint reverb. It's not you usual "Boss reverb + Tubescreamer" setup anymore. Also, Fenders are well-known for their clean tones, so no wonder Noel wanted to experiment with his pedalboard.
