Even if Noel or Liam didn't care about being number 1, they're labels certainly do! It's a business! So most certainly the competition when these come out is a consideration.

Well, 2017 hasn't been a great music year so if Noel makes 2018 better that's fine with me. Otherwise he should move it up and add to the brother vs brother story. I completely disagree. Even I'm still a huge Gallagher fan, there's so much music which I can't get enough of. This year has been a great music year again for me. |

I'm no Tay-Tay fan but I do like the album cover. However the font for the album title is repulsive. Fucks sake. Well, 2017 hasn't been a great music year so if Noel makes 2018 better that's fine with me. Otherwise he should move it up and add to the brother vs brother story. I disagree, I think it's been a great year. Well, for me at least! Loads of great music has been released and I'm looking forward to 4-5 albums which are being released in the next months. At the moment, I'd struggle to choose my favorite album released in 2017, there are a couple of incredibly strong candidates. I hope Noel makes it even better by releasing his record in November  Even as an Oasis fan, I can't see Liam or Noel "beating" Slowdive in my own record of the year contest. That album is so good that it alone makes this a great year  |

That album is so good that it alone makes this a great year I'm torn between Slowdive's and Ryan Adams. Very different records, but both absolutely brilliant in their own way. I hope Noel blows me away with his new stuff, but it will be hard to beat those two in my personal list. |

No matter what we're going to hear something in the next two weeks. Probably not a song, but definitely some update on his album. He'll have to be doing some interviews for the Manchester gig.

This Taylor Swift shit is a hindrance - but not a massive one. Let's look at the facts - Noel Gallagher and his former bandmate who he no longer talks to / gets on with (oh by the way, they also happen to be brothers) Liam Gallagher both have an album out at roughly the same time. Both of them will be doing a press tour at the same time and their albums will be in the charts at the same time.
Are you all telling me that because of Taylor Swift, his album won't sell or get the necessary publicity it deserves? Do yourselves a favour and stick your collective heads in an oven.
It'll be cataclysmic.

It's generally going to be the case that the guy who wrote all the great songs and music for Oasis will by nature sell more records considering his reputation and talent. It's completely irrelevant, and I don't think either brother is gearing up for anything, so as long as we get good records from the pair of them, that's all that matters. You can say it looks petty from the outset regarding the rift between them, but they're not so pathetic to turn it into a chart battle.
