I think Noel probably does delay his album by two weeks. #1 should still be attainable if he waits till 2 weeks post a Swift release.

Interestingly, dating back to The Slim Shady LP, everyone of Eminem's albums has either been released between late May-early June, or within the first two weeks of November. With Eminem's last three he's opted for a 2 month gap between his first single and the album release (judging by that timeline, that all but clears him out of October and into November). His typical gap used to be no more than a month, but he hasn't done that since 2004. However, Eminem has never had a late November release date.

That would lend more thought that Noel might shoot for a late release date, and try to use Christmas sales to push him a bit.

Lastly, HFB's had 120k debut and CY debuted with 89k in sales. So, it is possible for Noel to compete (Unless his sales takes a downturn like everyone else's, which is possible, though he's somewhat insulated because Oasis fans love physical releases). He just has to be strategic about it. Chances are, that we've gotten close enough to a lot of these releases that whatever date Noel and his people choose, it'll probably be the best one possible. The fact that we heard rumblings about them pushing it back says that they knew about Taylor Swift before a lot of the general public. So chances are they are very aware of where other albums will be slated to be release.

Noel's new album will be out on Nov.9. He announced it on the radio months ago. Who cares if Taylor Swift's latest shit will released at the same time? Neither Noel nor Liam are ever going to have a number one song or album in America. It is what it is.

What were the rumours that it would be pushed back except for some people on here saying that they could see it coming Nov 2017?

I disagree, I think it's been a great year. Well, for me at least! Loads of great music has been released and I'm looking forward to 4-5 albums which are being released in the next months.

At the moment, I'd struggle to choose my favorite album released in 2017, there are a couple of incredibly strong candidates. I hope Noel makes it even better by releasing his record in November

The wisest thing to do for noel is to push it ahead a week, Taylor will have the number one album for a few weeks after as well. But wouldn’t opposing record companies have access to that info and release dates ahead of the public?

Noel better not delay his album months just to avoid losing a chart battle. I'd lose a hell of a lot of respect for him. He's a 50 year old artist FFS, just release it. Spring is dead time, it won't help. But this is Noel's management so we can expect the least sensible reaction possible to be the one they choose.

Surely far too much will have been arranged to delay months, tour dates, artwork, publicity, interviews etc etc? But the silence, which I thought was them being smart, is beginning to become worrying. We know Noel is a lot more insecure than he likes to portray, and isn't averse to bottling it.


I imagine there's a lot of phone calls being made by his management though, and a fair amount of swearing, even if they do just want to move it a week or two that probably involves a LOT of work.
