He's pretty good at coming up with basslines and he's also written some decent keyboard parts in the past, so there are other possibilities.
Noel's at his best when he's playing to his strengths. That is the guitar. He can do those other things but is a master of none. The Go Let It Out bassline is really good tho

Who knows, we might hear a bit more guitar this time. If the songs were written by messing about in the studio, maybe a few of them are written around good guitar riffs or baselines.
I'm a sucker for big fat awesome basslines Would love to hear some stuff like this from Noel.

Does anyone feel the need for a 4th Noel Album hype thread yet? I'm starting to ITCH In an interview Noel claimed that while album 3 was written entirely in the studio he was still writing other songs outside it. And we know he has a huge stockpile. So it should be quick. Should be. Could be.

It's exciting that in 3 months we will have another Noel album and single a new single within 2 months. So low key this time around. I dig.

Somehow I'm still afraid it could be pushed back after the U2-South-America support gigs were announced? It's the same as discussed before, as a support act on tour he wouldn't take up the position of somebody releasing and promoting a record (out of respect for U2)? Plus maybe not having the time for any late promotional shots etc. Did he talk about a November release after these U2-October gigs were announced? Still hoping we will have it in November.

U2 are touring for an album that is 30 years old... I don't think they care if Noel uses the exposure to promote his new material. They are fans of him after all. All that said, it is still a bit weird to be touring with someone else that close to a album release.

He's being exposed to a larger audience right before he's about to release something, which seems to make sense except he's Noel and not just Typical Opening Act #47. That said I am a bit worried it's being pushed back to 2018 as well. We should hear something soon, right?

I think we can expect the first single at the end of August - beginning of September and the second between after the end of the October tour and the release of the album. The question is when are we going to listen something.

The main reason the release date will stay in 2017 is because CY didn't sell as well as HFB's. Part of that had to do with not having a single as big as WAL, and part of that had to do with releasing it past November. Meaning, Noel couldn't take advantage of Christmas sales. Noel's going to want the Christmas sales, so expect his album to stay in the 2017 window.

As I already said, album in 2018. Don't expect anything else sooner.

Something along this vibe would make me overjoyed.
So many great elements to this remix, a shame that the studio version was the flat Dave Sardy version. While still one of the better Sardy efforts, he still, as ever, didn't realise its full potential.

Noel talked about the U2 gigs making him take "time off work" last Saturday so I have a suspicion it'll push the release date back.

I always hate when bands release music in January or February. It's normally a dead zone.

I think it will be released somewhere in 2018. He doesn't want it to be compared with Liam's...

Why is everyone always going on about WAL being the biggest single from the first album? Wouldn’t it have been TDOYAM? Did it not chart the highest?

Yes,but WAL had better longevity in the top 40 of UK singles chart. It was also used in the European Championships on a TV ad (Vauxhall?) in England at the time which made it even more popular IIRC.

I always hate when bands release music in January or February. It's normally a dead zone. Maybe it's the time of year - miserable after Christmas and still dark outside - but, for some strange reason, albums that have been released in January/February have never instantly clicked with myself.

WAL was the weakest track by far... until he released ITHOTM & BOTMI.

The latter has got to contain one of the worst melody Noel has ever composed. And his singing on it is awful. WAL and TBOTMI aren't much better (so is Do The Damage too).
