Can't place the source off hand, but recently read that Noel's timeline is to have the album, videos, and all that finished come June. Maybe I'm late to this game, but....
A Noel album next summer or fall suits me just fine.

Liam's album before & Noel's after the summer. 2017 sounds like a promising year for Oasis fans.

Im convinced he has to be finished by june to allow three months until september for release, would explain why he missed the window last time being he finished in July, should have a first single around that glastonbury time, if it was just the album maybe not but seeing as the artwork etc has to be ready to go then it basically means june is the deadline to announce so theyve got enough time to get the ball rolling.

This. I do like that he is trying to do different things, even if they haven't always come out. Even if the music comes out sounding the same, I like that he is challenging his tequnique and the way he works instead of falling back to the "songs just fall out of the sky" and falling into his comfort zone. I like that he hasn't always taken the easy way. Even if AA didn't come out, he still made a commitment to try something new and to push his usual mode ofor working, and I like that he's doing the same here. I don't think any of his three solo albums have been made the same way, even the unreleased one. HFB: Sardy produced (made the album twice) CY: self produced AA: apparently longer studio sessions, and giving up control LP3: written in studio Hopefully this one is released and is good.

I too like that he's trying different things, but I find it useless if I don't hear them, so what do I care?

I too like that he's trying different things, but I find it useless if I don't hear them, so what do I care? Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it? Did you know that? It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Since, it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album. Thanks.

Maybe it's the fact that he has to write in the studio and we all love him for the songs that were never written in the studio ? Don't believe everything you read, especially when it come from Noel Gallagher. Don't ever forget about his ego and that he is control freak. It's hard to believe that he will just let things happen to him. He wrote and produced CY on his own and many tracks before that, even with Oasis, many track were done by himself before he even came to the studio. So, writing in the studio will probably mean that he will let producer to contribute more in the sound of the record. It is really impossible to imagine Noel coming in the studio absolutely clueless. I believe that he has strong idea about concept of an album and he has songs written and they will work more on bass parts, maybe adding some middle 8...At the end of the day, he can always pretend that he wrote something just now, altough he wrote it months ago. If you know anything about Gallaghers then you know that everything they say about an album before that album is released is completely opposite of how that album sounds. It's hard to believe that he will start from zero in studio, knowing Noel, writing in the studio means that 90% of an album is already done and he will do 10% in the studio.

(Credit: Oasisvideos.co.uk) NG's Low Hanging Fruit would have been the best name ever. Especially considering he had written quite a few songs on the album long before it was recorded.

BOTMI was written in the studio. Same with the AA tracks. By the way, when someone talks about writing songs in the studio, it doesn't mean that every single note and word were written between those four walls. He's mentioned that parts of the new album (lyrics in particular) were written while on tour, for example.

Writing an album in the studio in Noel's dictionary could probably mean just not recording it first on his own and then asking a producer to mix it like he tried to did last time with Chasing Yesterday.

I seriously hope he shakes things up a bit with the next tour. New songs, some sort of rotation, I can also do without the same 'jokes' at every gig. I think most people would agree that CY was the most uninspired and boring Oasis related tour ever, which is a damn shame because CY is a very enjoyable album. Its time to dig a little deeper into that incredible oasis back catalogue you lazy bastard!
