Hoping for something like that Gibb mix of Falling Down. Super stripped down, simple baggy guitar layers, danceable rock 'n' roll like the New York stuff that came out in 2002 (strokes etc).... then have a few classic acoustic songs in there to break it up.
That just be my humble opinion.

I hope he will be able to play the full album live.

I hope he will be able to play the full album live. Or at least a large chunk of it. Even if it doesn't sound exactly like the album, just bend it around a bit so that it can be played. Given the songs are good and we want him to play them, of course

Noel is doing his Christmas guest DJ on the BBC tonight right? Maybe we get some 3rd album tidbits.

I'm sure I'll like what he comes out with next as I've enjoyed his first two. Not overly bothered about him being experimental like a lot of people on here, I just want it to be good, that's the main thing.
The thing is, when Liam and Noel say they have a song that is "out there", it really isn't. Wouldn't mind some more songs like The Right Stuff, absolutely love that.

It doesn't sound like there will be anything out before the autumn.

News about the album: the deadline for finishing it (including mastering) is just before Noel heads to Glastonbury. If so, I'd expect an autumn release.

The Dion and Leonard Cohen records are genius.

I think september time is pretty expected, he only closed up CY this september, still doesnt matter, Liams album looks to be coming out early next year so spreads it out.

The craziest thing is Noel started recording this album more than three years ago! I'm pretty sure that's the longest he's ever spent working on an album. He said the results are worth it.

I would think that it would take the long. You figure he writes maybe four songs and one turns out decent, and the process was slowed by touring. The time it took him to record could very well be his typical span if the time were compressed rather than spread out over three years between stop/gap touring.

Fact: Noel doesn't do anything fast. It's alway a slow drip.

I don't know why i'm very suspicious about this and not excited at all... Maybe it hasn't been the usual 50 years break to miss him already, maybe it's the Liam's record coming ahead as well ? Maybe it's the fact that he has to write in the studio and we all love him for the songs that were never written in the studio ? Many questions, no answer. We will see. Suprise me.
