For Halloween I’m going as a parka monkey. However I doubt anyone would get the reference. I have a green Fred Perry and navy blue Pretty Green parkas you can borrow? That’s great Jim. Do you also happen to have a Dr. Zaius mask from planet of the apes?

Paul Weller demolished As You Were in that clip. He did so in a very nice way at least.

I find it extraordinarily odd that Paul Weller of all people is smashing Liam for what he perceives as substandard lyrics.
I mean, Paul isn't exactly known for writing great lyrics. At least, I've never cared for his lyrics much. It's his style and groove that I dig.

Apparently before this interview Noel told Weller if he praised Liam's album he was not going to talk to him again.

Paul Weller demolished As You Were in that clip. Not really. The thing about the lyrics, his guitarist Steve Craddock said the same thing, regarding Chinatown, whilst at the same time saying he liked the song and in particular Liam's vocal on it. Saying the lyrics are shit on that song as well as a few others shouldn't be a controversial thing to do. There are some pretty dreadful lines in there.

I don't think Liam and Weller are the best of mates any more so his comments don't surprise me, Liam has made a few digs at Weller on Twitter if I remember correctly so he was never going to be overly positive.

Question to all Liamists - So, now you will suddenly start to hate Paul Weller, cause he didn't verbally ejaculate praising As You Were?

Don't know how it's doing in terms of streaming, but two weeks after being put on YouTube, the music video for Holy Mountain is still yet to hit a million views.
I know some people like it, and fair play to 'em, but in general, I think it's safe to say the tune hasn't really caught fire. Time for single #2, Noel.

Question to all Liamists - So, now you will suddenly start to hate Paul Weller, cause he didn't verbally ejaculate praising As You Were? Actually I think it was a pretty nice comment. He apparently is no big fan of it's musical or lyrical content, fair enough, but it sounded believable that he is pleased for Liam to have his own thing now. Same with that Craddock comment, not a fan of the song, but he praised Liam's voice. That's what mates - if they are or were - are for, being honest about their opinion. And, once more, there are a few weird creatures around here that don't read "like Beady Eye" as an insult.

They probably had just listened to Chinatown.
In all fairness, Weller has always been very complimentary to Liam, even when Liam keeps attacking him.

They all are basically a drop in the bucket for the internet. So many artists get over 100, 200, 300 million views. That is serious noteworthy traffic. To me its all the same at this level.

However, everyone has a right to like whatever they want to like. Liam is no songwriter and has been very outspoken about that, often praising Noel's songwriting. I don't think anyone can argue that Liam's lyrics are average. I like the album, I prefer it to a lot of Noel's solo stuff. Each to their own, if people all of a sudden hate Paul Weller because he doesn't praise an album, it's a bit silly. With that being said, it wouldn't make much sense to say an album he is on isn't that great either- he also needs to help sell WBTM because he has credit on the album.

And in that interview of his that someone somewhere posted he said that both Gallaghers have their own versions of "truth", so not defending his allegedly favorite Gallagher and slamming the other one. I got the impression that he is fond of both of them, maybe more of Noel, but is way above getting involved in their fight.

Indeed, even though he is Noel's pal, doesn't get involved and always have good words for Liam. I really don't understand where Liam's recent dislike of him comes from really... just because he's Noel's friend?

I'm very surprised that there was not (yet) a tsunami of late night twitting about how Gem and Chris went potato.

Not at all, he didn't say anything bad, i actually like he said he's glad with Liam being back on doing music. He doesn't like the lyrics? oh well, i like them, people like what they like.

The original video put out with just audio has around 2 million views, but then on top of that, the music video released later has another 3.6 million from an upload by Noisey, and 2.3 million from NoelGallagherVevo. So that's around 8 million, then. Just like The Death of You and Me... It'll take Holy Mountain quite some time to make it to those numbers, I should imagine.
