The artist just tagged this pic with #highflyingbirds on Instagram. Probably a joke cos there's a bird in it, rather than real Noelly G artwork, but thought I'd share... http://instagram.com/p/BamPXb0HAB5

Who cares if noel doesn’t like it. John, George and Ringo all hated Sgt. Pepper. Doesn’t mean you can’t like it or others. And I got news for ya, Noel’s always been a terrible judge of music. Hell, John dismissed most Beatles material after the split. Doesn't make me less of a Lennon/Beatles fan or make me lose respect. Who fucking cares. I rather have him dismiss his own material or other bands than him having a huge collection of childporn or assaulting his wife or something. John spent the 70s viewing the Beatles through the lens of his feud with Paul. When he kept hyping up his work with Yoko as the greatest thing he'd ever done, while Paul was just making more of the same pop pap (John's view, not mine). It was only when he returned to music in 1980 that he seemed to take a gentler attitude towards his past. Noel may be the one that's like John the most, really. They were the leaders of their respective bands, they walked out and torched all bridges behind them when it was time to go their own way, and had no issues slating what most people consider their best work in favor of sticking up for their more polarizing solo work.

32 days until Who Built The Moon? hits the shelves! I feel an early leak. Maybe in 2 weeks. Album has been out and about for a long long time. Even Noel said he wakes up everyday thinking “today is the day”.

I think Liam is more like John and Noel is more like Paul in that aspect, actually.

I'm confused why UK and others are seeing the times for songs now. In Canada iTunes when the trailer dropped there was timestamps for Fort Knox, Beautiful World and Holy Mountain right away. I just thought it was common knowledge.

Chances for a single this week? 50/50 I'd say. He might want a few days to rest after his tour, so next week is far more likely, imo.

Leader in what sense ? For the public eye maybe, but it was Paul who drove the band behind the scene. He's behind the concept of Pepper, the White Album, Abbey Road, Let It Be... Lennon was just dragging his ass to the studio sessions that Paul arranged. A bit like Liam but with songs. The hectic recording schedule was planned by Paul, not John. Had it been John the Beatles would have disbanded in 66 or 67. Lennon's iconic image and Beatles leader status was largely built after his death.

Had it been John the Beatles would have disbanded in 66 or 67. Lennon's iconic image and Beatles leader status was largely built after his death. I think it's 50/50. In the early days it WAS John as "Chief". He and Paul were the songwriters, but it had been John's band in the first place. Paul joined him as a kid a couple years younger, and John was far more experienced and worldly, so even if the Beatles had no single songwriter or lead singer, John was the senior member the others listened to. Paul became the leader around 1967 for exactly the reasons you mention: John couldn't be arsed anymore. He had Yoko and new projects that interested him more than the Beatles. The Beatles, and the hassle that came with them, had become a job he wanted out of. Which is why I compare him to Noel: They each could have kept their iconic bands going, very profitably, for effectively the rest of their lives. But they each wanted to move on. And their creative partners (Paul* and Liam) would have been happy to stay together, and resent the one that left them. *I know Paul technically left the band first, but that was a spiteful move to get the drop on John, who'd been making noises about leaving for years at that point.

Paul became the leader after the death of their manager. Ringo left during the white album and came back then George left during Let It Be and came back (both absence due to Paul's leadership). Finally they decided to disband without saying it but Paul decided to open his big mouth.

Anyway...
I really doubt the first time we'll hear Beautiful World is in Jools Holland so... I'm guessing it will be out before that

I'm perhaps not a huge fan of Paul but it never bothered me that he basically said fuck you and told the world it was finished.

Klein was such a joke and a charlatan, and it's still amazing that McCartney was the only one who noticed. It's why he's swimming in cash today.

Yeah exactly, they were all smart lads, its amazing the three of them went again Paul on that, I know he wanted to get his father in law in which caused friction but fucking hell he would have been better than Klein.

Can somebody explain me what happened with Klein? Wasn't he involved with The Rolling Stones?
