I don't dislike electronic music as a genre at all. I don't mind it. But some of it really annoys me - like techno and dubstep.

Has anyone posted audio of The Right Stuff 3D remix version 2? I've been able hear the other songs, either whole or snippets.

those Aphex Twin vids are not making me like electronica at all btw all this discussion about guitar music being dead and computers as instruments reminds me of this bit on Jimmy Fallon I saw the other day, from 1m47 on What about U2 Eva? Their work with Brian Eno incorporates ambiance (a sub-genre of electronica) from Unforgettable Fire and Joshua Tree. And of course the Achtung Baby and Zoo TV era which went for more direct electronic influences?

The more I think about it, the more it seems that there were missed opportunities. Paul Oakenfeld The Mexican, David Holmes Revolution Song with choir, Chemical Brothers LATD, and AA Freaky Teeth. But I'm happy with what we got!

Zooropa is the most underrated U2 album U2 today wouldn't have the balls to release - or even write - songs like Numb and Lemon.

Haven't listened to this. Any good? Some of the pervious remixes by the Wizard people were pretty solid.
As far for this electronic music debate. Here's my .02 cents.
It's definitely music, because music for me is encompasses wide range sounds and emotions, but I would not say that all electronic "artists" are musicians, some of them lean more towards producing/arranging rather than actually creating or expressing themselves through electronic instruments. That statement might piss off some people and the meaning of a "true artist" is different for everyone. My avatar is an album by a electronic group called The Avalanches and I think that album is a classic in its own right and it stands comfortably next to other great pieces of work that were played by live musicians/instruments.
I see a lot of parallels between this debate and the debate that surrounds classic fine art vs modern art. Impressionism and realism have a great sense and focus on craftsmanship (not to say that modern doesn't) through the paint, but art has slowly evolved beyond just that medium or that specific style(s). I guess its just comes down to whether the sound/execution is actually good and if the expression genuine.
It's interesting to think about why we really love the music that we do. I think the fundamental reason why rock n' roll (and too a lesser extent music with "live" instruments) is my favorite genre is the fact that the best rock n' roll captures a live performance or spirit (fellow musicians will know the feeling). Like the 18 minute madness of Sister Ray by the Velvet Underground, there's just something magical about that song and that performance. It has an element to it that electronic music might not ever be able to convey, but the same thing can be said vice versa. I just try to enjoy it all, that is if its enjoyable in the first place.

We think we have it hard waiting for Noel/Oasis albums but fans of The Avalanches know the real pain of waiting for a new album!

I'm enjoying this release a lot more than I thought I would. Even the duller material such as the ITHOTM Weatherall mix sounds pretty good, and the David Holmes TGWXRE was a real treat. Who would've thought that a love song with a The Masterplan riff would've sounded great sung by a bunch of kids? Makes me wonder why Holmes didn't do a remix of Revolution Song.

...I'd love to hear an accomplished vocalist take on TGWTXE, with a nice spare production that avoids the greasy Duran Duran vibe of the album version. Think the results would be phenomenal. Maybe David Bowie could have a go.

And of course the Achtung Baby and Zoo TV era which went for more direct electronic influences? I don't know, I'm not the biggest U2 fan but I do like most of their songs in that era. I think there's a difference in incorporating some electronic influences in rock music versus a complete electronic album/DJ remix. I'm not enjoying this album because I already know the original songs and I like them as such. I don't think these remixes add anything nor make them better. it is after all adding some bleep bloop sounds. Maybe the BOTMI remix is the only one I would consider listening to it again and the Dave Holmes intrumental version of Girl with X Ray eyes because the drumming intro reminds me of When the Leeve Breaks

On first listen, my favourite is X-Ray Eyes; my least favourite is the Psychemagik Right Stuff Remix.
The Right Stuff 3D version 1 is great as well.

Some good stuff on here, Beyond the Wizards Sleeve especially do some really creative stuff with Riverman and Ballad of the Mighty I. David Holmes re-imagining of The Girl With X-Rays Eyes is fun too, he really made the chorus better than it had any right to be. The darker tone of a lot of 3D's The Right Stuff is the kind of experimental stuff I'd like to hear from Noel in the future.
Overall good but a slight lack of real creativity. Too much of the standard "loop different bits of the vocal melody over a beat" tricks etc...
6/10

Anyone got any pics of this sexy package?
I knew I'd be moving house around the shipping date so sent it to my parents - will be a few weeks before I get my hands on it.

I don't have pictures, but it's nothing really fancy. There is no gatefold and the records come in plain black sleeves. Noel has gone full IDM with this release. I found this picture on Google, you get the idea:

I was expecting a bit more from the packaging given the price, but I guess this really is being treated as a regular EP despite there being 3 discs and a huge price tag!

I'm still quite shocked this has come out. Just imagine the amount of songs Noel must have tucked up his sleeve... and we get remixes?! I'd have been over the moon even with a 3 track EP of new songs. Oh well

I thinks his next 'brilliant' album will be scrapped like the AA sessions, then around 2019 we'll get Come on Outside, Just Let It Come Down Over Me, She Must Be One Of Us and Don't Stop It Happenin'/Bye, Bye My Family Don't get me wrong, but I am a little bit tired of his promises and lies

My point was that the remix EP is not getting in the way of other stuff. I don't think She Must Be One of Us will ever get released, by the way. I could see the other songs being B-sides.

I don't know about lying about the AA album, but he used to lie/talk bullsh*t in interviews. Even Alan McGee, Andy, Tony, Johnny Marr and Paul Weller said it
