Lots of hidden gems and lesser known tracks can be found from the VLV era The band's only shoegaze song is also one of their best songs. You wouldn't be able to tell it was them by first listen. Sucks they lost their creativity and resort to releasing mainstream MOR radio pop.

Sucks they lost their creativity and resort to releasing mainstream MOR radio pop. It has that wall of sound but also a certain aura of peace around. Love the mantra that repeats over and over, "Sleep, sleep satisfied..." It always gets in my head after hearing it so it's a great ear worm too. I'd love to hear what Jonny and co could do with Brian Eno and their creative juices running wild.

I'm amazed that this thread's still running, but half the new stuff people are talking about doesn't have much to do with aHFoD. Except the comparisons.

A Rush of Blood to the Head era is their best, including all of the b-sides like Crest of Waves, I Ran Away, One I Love, and Animals

If you like the sound of the song I suggest you check out My Bloody Valentine's Loveless and MBV records as well as Slowdive's Just For A Day and Souvlaki. I made a dedicated thread to this kind of music earlier if you want to discover more songs like it live4ever.proboards.com/thread/85924/shoegaze-appreciation-thread

I find it interesting that theyve started using the stripped down version of everglow to advertise the whole album of head full of dreams in their TV ad when that version isnt even on the album. think chris had some speed of sound regrets on the production of that tune. I'd love to hear Speed of Sound however Chris envisioned it. I wonder how different it would actually be...

Indeed. Yet, amazingly, still better than All For One.

Coldplay have released a single with The Chainsmokers, the group who made that "But first - let me take a selfie!" song.

Coldplay have released a single with The Chainsmokers, the group who made that "But first - let me take a selfie!" song. Guys and girls take notes. This is what a Chris Martin solo album will sound like and it's coming soon. Coldplay is dead. He doesn't need them to do this type of music. It's over. On a side note, this song is like a cheap poppy version of Radiohead's "Cut A Hole". Just saying................

I'd never heard of The Chainsmokers before. Guess I'm lucky! The only song worth a listen is Roses, but other than that, they're rather shite so you are pretty lucky.

I'd never heard of The Chainsmokers before. Guess I'm lucky! You might have. It's nearly impossible not to have heard them.

I've not heard this yet, but the reaction online is mental...is it really that good? No. Can't say it's shit, but it's clichéd as fuck. Still better than a lot of stuff on AHFOD though.
