It's a lovely song. Could have better lyrics though.

Remarkably unexceptional and forgettable as expected from them these days, Coldplay on autopilot. There's absolutely no fragment of creativity in them now to suggest they'll ever get it back.

Just listened.
You know what? I like it. It's a decent song. It sounds like a mixture of Bon Iver Bon Iver, A Moon-Shaped Pool, and Ghost Stories (nice influences to hear after all the Flo-Rida inspired shit of late). Nice chorus, good production, heartfelt, and actually sounds like the same band who made A Rush of Blood to Head - a much less effective, poppier version undoubtedly, but at least the same four people.
It's no masterpiece, and I probably won't be listening to it for years to come - but after the last few years, this is good to hear.

What a innocent, mesmerizing, middle-aged women catered pile of garbage.
Got 30 seconds in and had to shut it off.

I'll be sure to give their new song a listen later, but seriously, "Miracles 2" As if we need an addendum to that garbage song.

Hypnotised actually isn't that bad! Certainly a breath of fresh air after the garbage that was AHFOD. In fact, I think that it's better than anything on that album save Up&Up. It actually sounds like a band playing together in a room (minus the overly bright production).
However, though I liked the song, it also wasn't particularly memorable. Very...generic. I can't shake the feeling that the only reason I feel somewhat impressed by this song is because Coldplay have set the bar so low that even an average track will sound great to my AHFOD-scarred ears.

Coldplay have released a single with The Chainsmokers, the group who made that "But first - let me take a selfie!" song. Guys and girls take notes. This is what a Chris Martin solo album will sound like and it's coming soon. Coldplay is dead. He doesn't need them to do this type of music. It's over. On a side note, this song is like a cheap poppy version of Radiohead's "Cut A Hole". Just saying................ now their new song is just a really shitty poppy version of daydreaming. Coldplay are like the hollyoaks, corrie, eastenders of music. People only listen because its REALLY easy listening, not much going on, not hard to follow.

Back when they were a nice combo of Radiohead, Jeff Buckley and Echo & The Bunnymen.

It harkens back to their early years a bit. While it's no masterpiece, it actually makes me more hopeful for their new material.

Back when they were a nice combo of Radiohead, Jeff Buckley and Echo & The Bunnymen. I loved them during that 2001-2003 period. I went to see them at Wembley last year and had a great time but overall for me personally I prefer the music released between 2001-2003. I still like a lot of the songs they have released since but to be honest they lost me when they started dressing up in costumes during gigs, its not really my thing but maybe I'm boring!

All you people who think this is good and hopeful about future material better keep buckling yourselves up, apparently this is the tracklist for their extended play: Taken from their Facebook page Unless 'A L I E N S' turns out to be a spaced out electronic frenzy (which it'll probably be a pitiful dubstep hip hop tripe), song titles like 'All I Can Think About Is You' and 'Miracles 2' (that pile of innocent feces got a sequel? Or they just can't come up with good song titles either now?) is continuing their trend of useless pop that plays in the background of stadium games. EDIT: Just realized Lennon2217 's pitchfork link already had the information but as for those who can't be bothered to give that site any traffic here it is anyway.

That's pretty good actually! The main bass riff reminds of some early-Verve tunes like Blue, Slide Away or Gravity Grave. Totally different songs but still...

Heh, when I heard this a couple of weeks back early Verve never crossed my mind - this song seems more of the anthemic qualities of X&Y merged with AROBTTH ('Clocks' chords in the piano break leading up to the big finish). This band is an enigma as I've bashed them so much yet pulls this track out and it's light years ahead of anything they've done in the last 5 years.

Just to clarify my previous statement: the song doesn't sound at all like early Verve. When I heard that prominent bass riff my mind instantly jumped to a few Verve tunes, but that's pretty much it. No similarities whatsoever I agree with your analysis. You can already tell that this will be insanely better than the utter dross on AHFOD.

A modern day Coldplay song with the title All I Can Think About Is You really shouldn't be anything other than dross.
But, to my shock, they have only gone and written a song that sounds like classic Coldplay and without any of the recent cliched tripe lyrics. Stunned I tell you - it's really really good.

Can't wait to hear Stargate murder the studio version. You see that's why it's a massive shame. Coldplay, instrumentally, are a tight, highly skilled and well drilled band - they're not a great live act for no reason. And then they undo all that by adding cheap contemporary effects onto their recordings.

Can't wait to hear Stargate murder the studio version. Is it confirmed they are the producers? Apparently A.L.I.E.N.S is a track they did with Eno - whether it'd be a recent one or a Mylo Xyloto outtake.

Guy's bassline is great, Will had the anthemic drumming style on lock, and Jonny's solo was really unexpected - doesn't sound like any sort of cheesy pop solo on the radio but an amalgamation of all his influences (which is fantastic).

Apparently A.L.I.E.N.S is a track they did with Eno - whether it'd be a recent one or a Mylo Xyloto outtake. "Alien Radio" was the name of a song that they recorded in the MX sessions. Whether there's a connection between it and A.L.I.E.N.S. is anyone's guess. As for Stargate, as far as I know they are not involved (thankfully!!). However, I did see DJ Swivel credited on a track. I've nothing against Beyonce, but someone who produces her should stay far, far away from Coldplay.
