Who made the better album between 2003 and 2005? A) X&Y
B) Don't Believe The Truth
C) Hail To The ThiefOnly really enjoyable listen of those is X&Y. Even the filler songs are alright (though I don't care for A Message) in the context of the album. The cool thing about these transitional albums was that two of these bands went on to make great big bold statements on their next albums. One sadly did not.

Would take the old "Englishman abroad" look over the "paedo Geography teacher" one, any day. It's a matter of time before this clown starts twerking like Queen B, his idol.

coldplays image to me has been a counteraction, they were seen as a depressive band so they dress in all these bright colours and sing about getting drunk and high to dispel that which is fair enough I guess but I can feel the musical quality is shallower
"There was a feeling that we don’t have anything to lose. We’re very comfortable now with the fact that we’re not for everybody.”
it almost feels more like a desperate attempt to be accepted rather than just doing your thing and letting people choose to like it or not.

Wonderfully put, only revealing right at the end you were talking about Chris Martin and not Rihanna. If only you weren't such a Radiohead fanboy, I could've done with you back in 2014!

Dress sense or not, the music is what should ultimately be judged.
I can't say too much about Ghost Stories and Head Full Of Dreams as I can barely recall the songs, but for Mylo Xyloto - the worst of their first five albums - judging by their live renditions of those songs, then the peaks far outweigh Don't Believe The Truth (perhaps the most consistently decent of Oasis albums since BHN, though lacking the peaks of Gas Panic and a couple of other songs since BHN).
Even Princess of China - the Rihanna song, is a decent song live when not selling out by duetting with divas and when you can hear Jonny Buckland's screaming guitar on that one then it really hits home that, tune wise, it's a well crafted song.
More sprightly rhythms, more deftly executed guitar work - just generally more energy and spirit to it - all in all, a lot more preferable to the mid-tempo middle age dad plod of much of latter Oasis.

Different Gear Still Speeding is the best effort out of those albums easily. ahead of it's time for sure.

Are we still talking about Coldplay? It's over. Go home. The funeral was in 2014.

Well, I went to see them, and they were good. They talked a bit about Brexit, paid tribute to Muhammed Ali and covered Heroes, which, to my surprise, didn't get a lot of response. In our square, some dude and I were the only ones singing along.
The Scientist was a bit of a low. Chris hit a lot of bum notes on the piano. Fix You was amazing, had to control myself not to burst out in tears.
I enjoyed every song, even Hymn For The Weekend. And they had great visuals as well. Plus everyone got a wristband, which lit up in different colours during some songs. There were balloons, there was fireworks..
Songs like Amsterdam didn't get a lot of response from the crowd. A lot of people were also leaving towards the end. Didn't really understand it.
All in all it was great. I don't care what anyone says, Coldplay are an amazing live act.
