X&Y is better than MX. It's not a terrible album but it's a rapid downshift in quality from VLV and most of the stuff that came before it.

MX is not any better than DBTT. Both are mediocre albums but I'd take songs like Idle and Turn Up the Sun over Paradise and Every Teardrop. Oh, and Oasis didn't have freaking Rihanna on their album.

Charlie Brown is a fucking tune man!
I actually like a lot of songs off Mylo. Charlie Brown, Hurts Like Heaven, Us Against The World, Major Minus, Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, UFO, Paradise.

Are they still playing the muscular version of Clocks they played on the Mylo tour, or is more like the original?

Coldplay vs Oasis over the last 16 years? No debate. Coldplay wipes the floor with Oasis.

It builds into a great crescendo of noise, piano, drums etc. Really brilliant.

Jeez, 60 pages on this garbage?
Why are you guys still banging on about this total piece of shit band? Let me clear this up for you. THEY SUCK! THEY'VE ALWAYS SUCKED! THEY WILL ALWAYS SUCK! At best they were a very bad U2. Chris Martin is such a doofus he married Gwenyth Paltrow. She's an idiot. A silver spoon shit for brains with no real clue about anything outside of her cozy little bubble life. HE MARRIED THAT! He's a moron. His music is crap. His lyrics are crap. His sound is crap.
These days? He does songs with Beyonce, the ultimate in commercial whoredom. She's at EVERY opening looking for cameras to pose for. I'm not kidding. Open up a box of cornflakes, turn around and she'll be there primping for a camera. HE RECORDED WITH THAT! Fuck him, he's not worthy. He's a phony rock star. I knew it the first time I ever saw and heard him. You should've too.
Can we talk about Adele now?
No? Okay, carry on then.

Couldn't the same be said for Oasis? Oasis true to themselves? Release half baked albums for a decade and letting down fans? Yeah, that's the Oasis ethos i love.

I dont consider anything after SOTSOG to be "oasis" really, HC onwards was a new band using the oasis name, beady eye featuring Noel gallagher essentially, still dont understand Noel saying "we tried for years and years to get back to those levels we were at with those first 3 albums but we never made it" and yet he never tried going back to what made those albums great.

Who made the better album between 2003 and 2005? A) X&Y
B) Don't Believe The Truth
C) Hail To The ThiefMan, dark times. Thank god for Funeral. It's between Hail to the Thief and X&Y for me. I'm gonna go...Hail to the Thief. X&Y would have been better, were there less utter dross like What If, X&Y, and arguably Swallowed in the Sea. If it looked like this: 1. Square One 2. White Shadows 3. Fix You 4. Talk 5. Speed of Sound 6. A Message 7. The Hardest Part 8. Low 9. Gravity 10. Twisted Logic 11. Till Kingdom Come It'd be better than Hail. But then again, if Hail looked like this: 1. 2+2=5 2. Where I End & You Begin 3. Sail to the Moon 4. Backdrifts 5. Go to Sleep 6. There There 7. I Will [Leaked Version] 8. A Punch-up at a Wedding 9. Myxomatosis 10. Gagging Order 11. A Wolf at the Door It might not be. The only thing we know is...Don't Believe the Truth is shit. Imagine playing someone Turn up the Sun after D'You Know What I Mean? was released in '97 and saying "One day, Oasis will produce an album where this is one of the highlights. And it'll be considered a return to form."

Can't remember Oasis dressing like total gimps and doing records with Rhianna. Of course the Oasis albums 2000 onwards were much weaker but give me them over these bed wetters any day of the week.

C) Hail To The ThiefOnly really enjoyable listen of those is X&Y. Even the filler songs are alright (though I don't care for A Message) in the context of the album.

C) Hail To The ThiefI'd have to go with X&Y. Yes, it's overblown and bloated, but I've enjoyed every song, even filler tracks like What If and the title track. Likewise, with Mylo Xyloto, I don't think it has a weak track besides Princess of China (but it isn't that bad compared to Hymn for the Weekend). Even with the cluttered production, you can still hear a band ethic, the cooperation of the talents of four musicians crafting together an album.

Martin doesn't just look like a Geography teacher anymore - he now looks like the kind of Geography teacher who holds extra "revision" sessions in his office after school's finished, for the girls in his classes most in need of "a bit of extra help". Dressing like that when he's nearing 40? Fucking weirdo.

lol Hail to the Thief obliterates X&Y and DBTT. If you have There There and Where I End And You Begin on your album you've won by default!

C) Hail To The ThiefFix You is the biggest single, DBTT the most consistent and HTTT is a mess. It definitely needed to be trimmed down to 10 or 11 songs. Way too many at the moment. Thom still says that final track list haunts him because it was rushed and doesn't represent what he or the band really wanted.
