Everything's Not Lost/Life is For Living is about not committing suicide. I thought Yellow was about a girl. Yeah, I always thought it was about unrequited love so strong he killed himself almost happily. I don't really know where I got this from, but the lines "I drew a line", "For you I bleed myself dry", "Oh what a thing to do" etc...seemed to suggest it. Yellow is about unrequited love. |

Shiver is DEFINITELY about that as well. "So I look in your direction, but you pay me no attention, do you? I know you don't listen to me, cos you say you see straight through me, don't you?" Combine that with the perfect vocal delivery given by Chris throughout the whole song & the overall great job by Will, Guy, and Jonny on the instrumentation, and you have a song that captures the magic of Oldplay beautifully. |

I think the coolest thing I 'added' for the mix, was taking the 'it's a wa wa wa...' bit, changing it from the overly loud scream to an ominous one with alot of reverb, lowering the volume. Favorite part for me. I placed a portion of the electric guitar in the ending. |

Yet another pretty good performance from the tour. It's not the traditional arrangement for the song, but it mixes in the variations, like the electronic drums and different bassline, very well.

If they keep up creativity like that for a new song then I have a glimmer of hope for their next record. They've been surprising me with their live performances lately in South America. Loved Guy's bass solo and Jonny pulling well, a Jonny Greenwood 'bendsy' style at the end. |

I can totally see Coldplay performing at this season's Super Bowl. Makes perfect sense too. New album will be out in late fall. Most commercial, safe, rock band in the world. The stars are aligned for this to potentially happen. Next stop San Francisco. If there's a God I pray to him that it won't be Coldplay ft. Bruno Mars. Oh boy! More like Beyonce and Bruno Mars ft. The best thing I can say about A Head Full Of Dreams is that it made me realise that Mylo Xyloto is pretty decent.

I said before this album was released that Coldplay are only ever as good as the producer they hire. A Head Full Of Dreams reaffirms this belief.
Coldplay are like footballers whose performances depend on the manager who is coaching them. I'm still waiting for a Jon Hopkins (or someone of that ilk) produced album - until then, I don't anticipate any forthcoming album from them.
