I was listening to Fix You recently. It's still one of my favourite Coldplay songs especially with the anthemic lead guitar break. However, I'm convinced that if they released/recorded that song today, the guitar riff would be replaced by a shite synth with some horrible clubby drum beat behind it, very similar to how A Sky Full Of Stars turned out.

Check the coldplayatlas twitter account for soundcheck snippets of a new song. And please tell me what it sounds like cuz I fucking hate listening to live versions/clips of new songs before the full studio version.

Fantitled "Amazing Day". WTF. "It Makes Me Wanna Cry", "If There's a God", "It's a Crime", "Solve My Mystery" are MUCH better fan titles. EDIT: Worse, the song's official title might actually be "Amazing Day".

I can totally see Coldplay performing at this season's Super Bowl. Makes perfect sense too. New album will be out in late fall. Most commercial, safe, rock band in the world. The stars are aligned for this to potentially happen. Next stop San Francisco.

I don't want to sound predictable with "that's dreadful" but that is really awful. What a dirge.

So bland and inoffensive it is offensive.
Fuck sake, this is like Ed Miliband set to music.

R.I.P Coldplay.
In the words of the Verve... "See you in the next one (have a good time)"

Is it really as dreadful as people are saying? Fuck.
(I refuse to listen to live versions before the studio version)

This tune had better just be for Global Citizen...fuck I hate it. I guess it could just be for that festival? I think it's possibly the worst song I've ever heard in my life!

It's not a dreadful song by any means, but it's not great either.
It's more or less how I expected it to be - a few bland verses, followed by a woah-oh-oh section that leads into a rather nice hook at the end.

So bland and inoffensive it is offensive. Fuck sake, this is like Ed Miliband set to music. That is incredibly unfair on Ed Miliband. He is nowhere near as offensive as the magnolia coloured turd that just dribbled into my ears.

Nice to hear more singing from Will, other than that my god it's really underwhelming and bland.

So bland and inoffensive it is offensive. Fuck sake, this is like Ed Miliband set to music. It reminded me of their song "Miracles" from last December. Very slow and simple. Very safe. Remember when this band made songs like Shiver and Politik?
