I don't know. I never was a big fan of Coldplay, but up until Viva La Vida i used to listen to all of their records, quite a lot sometimes. Don't know what happened to them, but it seems like these guys have nowhere else to go musically and as a band. It suprises me actually because they seemed to had all the potential, they could have go anywhere with their music. Chris is a very gifted musician, without a doubt a great songwriter. They never had this one mega tune, but they were very solid in what they were doing and every album was a bit in a different style and always containted fresh, beautiful songs. Even though they got their own particular sound, they always were capable of surprising people with their new material. That's how they got so big, they were just very good at it. I even liked Mylo Xyloto, but since then, until now, this band just fails to interest me with their singles or new albums. People say that they're all pop now, but i don't really mind pop. It's just that the songs are not quite there. The band seems very happy with what they're doing and all and it's good for them, but i don't hear it in music to be honest. They lost this class somewhere down the road. Surely, the new album will be ok and the songs so far are alright, but it's just the same old vibe since Mylo Xyloto. The colors, Rihanna, Beyonce, Stone Rosy riffs, dance vibe, nothing new. I thought they could do better. It's not so much pop that is the problem but it's the wrong sort of pop. If Chris started waxing lyrical about ABBA or The Beatles or other melodic geniuses then I would totally lap it up, but when he's praising the likes of Justin Bieber who are an insult to pop music, then either (A) he's lost his mind completely or, as I suspect, (B) he is a whore to the putrid mainstream and is desperate to 'get down' with the kids, And what is so disappointing is this is coming from the guy who wrote Politik.

If the reviewer just dismisses Up&Up in one sentence, I don't think I share his/her taste in music anyway.

Here's the snippet of Up&Up: http://instagram.com/p/-e8te8Hddc It sounds good. The guitar should be louder, but it's hard to judge from this five seconds low quality clip.

Noels solo is the star of the song. Says a lot about how good Noel actually is.

Those mystic sounding songs sound great, otherwise Hymn for the Weekend and Army of One are shaping up to be Grade A pop garbage. Someone said Army of One sounds like Fix You... huh?

Beyonce. That's one big 'fuck you' from Chris Martin to all his fans and most of them don't even realize it.

Beyonce. That's one big 'fuck you' from Chris Martin to all his fans and most of them don't even realize it. Is she trading vocals with Chris or is she just singing in the background?

Hope this will not be some "ermahgerd we are desperately trying to be psychedelic but we suck at it greatly" kind of record.

Army of One sounds the most promising of of the unheard tracks, but there's a few problems on judging a 3/4 minute song on a 10 second instrumental part.

BREAKING........................................... This record might suck There's no 'might' about it. Hard to say from the clips but it sounds like there's some real stinkers in there. Hymn For The Weekend sounds dire.

All kidding aside. Is Coldplay breaking up No, but this album is the completion of a journey. They see it as everything they've done previously has been leading up to this, but they will in all likelihood embark on a new journey after this one. Viva la Coldplay

Fuck this..... Anyway, Travis are back, the 'original' Coldplay.
Man, they look old, making me feel old but the song (not a single as far as I know) is pretty decent and the video is hilarious (actor Daniel Bruhl is in it), nice to see a band being themselves eh Chris?
