This ain't gonna be popular but sometimes I wish Noel would quit touring like The Beatles did and focus all efforts in the studio... I agree. If it meant more studio albums, more often, from Noel I'd rather he pack in the touring too. If Oasis had done that they might still be together.

I can't believe we've waited 3.5 years for an album, and are already yearning for the next one after 4 months! Why release another single for a song we all already own and will be the only ones buying it? 'Cause, believe it or not,the people on this forum are not the only ones who buy/listen to Noel's music, plus a new single with T In The Park coming at the end of the week could have a nice impact, especially if that new single is actually YKWCGB And least but not last there's a chance we will finally get a brand new b-side

It'll sink like a stone like so many past Noel singles have outside debut and follow up ones. Singles 3-5 free fall (out into nothing!). In this current music climate, it's best to only release more singles if the demand is there. The album is selling well still. That's enough. Additional singles won't do the business sadly. 1996 succes ain't walking through that door!

I agree on that, but that was not my point! And I'm not a fan of musicians taking years and years to create music. Noel is basically 50. Get a move on buddy! Your solo career probably should have begun when you were 32! Me neither, just said I couldn't live with that. I mean, CY is a good album, but 3.5 years and only getting 10 tracks and 4 B-sides, of which we had heard a few already (and yes that's our own fault partially, with The Dying Of The Light) and more than half of it which had been years old already is a bit disappointing really.

I still wish Noel would release a standalone, not connected to this album or the next. Just fresh material to resurge any interest. Not sure why he doesn't do that.

Had they actually done that, they might have had split up even sooner.

The new b-side will be Freaky Teeth. Just wanted to say that. Or the ITHOTM remix. Because those two haven't been released on single yet. New B-side my ass.

Just you wait Lennon, The Right Stuff will top charts across the globe and win Best Record at the Grammy's next year! I agree it means nothing much these days. This new single is for those folk who listen to BBC Radio 2 to remind them that there is a Noel album out at the minute, and will merely shift a few more copies of the album.

I don't care about it sinking like a stone, give me a new b-side Here is the thing, you dont need a "new" single to release a "b-side". You simply upload a new track to iTunes or NG.com and tweet it out. Boom! Done. No need for singles 3-5 just to get a b-side we probably already own/have.

Uh, what about Candle For My Birthday Cake/Here's A Candle as being the b-side? People rarely register new tracks and then not release them and it's not something Noel has done before. I can't think of a good reason why one last song would be registered unless it was to be released as a future b-side. Maybe Freaky Teeth will be just considered a bonus track? According to scottc who I believe is a credible source, which I (by chance) managed to back up, it's a 3-minute C&W/honky-tonk track in the key of G and features a banjo and a sax. I believe Here's a Candle is the more likely final title, but I couldn't say for certain, just an educated guess.

If it is a fourth single, and that single isn't The Dying of the Light (I'm not counting the promo that hmv did before the album came out), then this world won't make sense to me anymore. That tune deserves to be an official single and played as widely as possible - it'll draw new fans in from everywhere. (That said, 'surprise' news from official Noel sources is usually anything but in my experience, as we'll usually have heard it already from other places. Probably an advert for the acoustic shows in November or something lol.)

Overall I think TDOTL is too slow and old school ballad to make any real impact on the charts, Internet, TV or radio. It's not that kind of tune. Like a Wonderwall for instance when you just knew first time hearing it it would be played everywhere around the globe for 12-15 months. Been a long fucking time since a Gallagher enjoyed that type of success. I think the next single if there should be one, really needs to be fast and energetic.
