Top three I love, X&Y is okay, and I can't even remember the last time I gave the last two a spin. From the last two albums, I think Midnight, Magic and O are brilliant, but the rest honestly does nothing for me. Ghost Stories wore thin very quickly after initially enjoying it and Mylo Xyloto is just hollow bombast.
Am I a big fan or was I big fan? I still regularly listen to their best albums, so of course I'm a big fan, but I couldn't care less about them today. Let's be honest, they fucked up in my eyes when they veered from the British alternative rock sound to juvenile teenie-pop appealing nonsense. I saw them as natural successors to The Verve in the UK, and along with Doves in the early 2000s, they were at the forefront of a post-Britpop phase of mature and melodic alternative rock.
And now they do duets with Rihanna and Aviici. Judging by the title of their next album - A Head Full Of Dreams - we might as well write that one off too. That surely has to be the most cliched and embarrassing album title ever no?

I personally think Talk is their weakest big single. One of my least favorite Coldplay songs ever. The only real memorable moment for me is the the guitar break with a min left. The melody is bland, the lyrics are shit, and really lazy interpretation of Computer Love. It is almost boarding on being a terrible song for me.
Things I Don't Understand and Gravity should have made it on X&Y. Damn shame they gave Gravity to Embrace.
Prospekt's March is an underrated EP. Those first five tracks are all pretty damn great. Shame they couldn't have that type of quality on Ghost Stories. Glass Of Water and Life In Technicolor ii are two superb tracks.
Also if Coldplay is gonna do the whole big popstar thing and collaborate with Jay Z and RiRi then I think they'd do a great song with Drake, Frank Ocean, or maybe The Weeknd.

A Head Full of Dreams obviously comes in last. 4. X&Y (many classics, and hidden gems)
5. Parachutes (stunning debut)
6. Ghost Stories (not that bad in general, Ink and True Love are beyond awful though. nice bonus tracks!)
A Head Full of Dreams (low expectations for this, will hopefully enjoy some tunes)
I don't care for Everglow either, but I'll be damned, already got that piano hook on my brain.
