01 - Ballad of the Mighty I (such a grower, first time I listened to it I thought it was just ok)
02 - Riverman
03 - Dying of the Light (honestly these three first songs are basically a tie)
04 - While the Song Remains the Same
05 - The Right Stuff
06 - Heat of the Moment
07 - The Mexican
(all the songs below are meh for me, would rather Do the Damage and Freaky Teeth)
08 - Girl with X- Ray Eyes
09 - Lock All The Doors
10 - You Know We Can't Go Back

Although that's pretty changeable. I like them all, I think every last one is a quality song, the lower ranked ones I still like, just have qualms about the production in one or two cases. The album's grown on me a lot since release, 12 songs I like/really like, but only the top three are classics/near classics for me

I'll give some sort of reasoning for these:
1) The Dying of the Light - one of my favourite slow songs he's ever wrote, loved it from when it leaked
2) Lock all the Doors - the 1st time I heard this, I was amazed he could still write a song like Morning Glory or Cigarettes & Alcohol
3) You Know We Can't Go Back - didn't like it that much until I heard the live version
4) Ballad of the Mighty I - don't really see all the fuss on this one, sounds a little like What a Life to me
5) Riverman - maybe the best chorus on the album
6) The Mexican - don't understand the hate for this one, the guitar bits are great
7) While the Song Remains the Same - don't like the chorus, but the best verses on the album. Particularly like the first verse
8) The Right Stuff - was great at first listen because its different, but I've kinda grown bored of it
9) In the Heat of the Moment - don't really like the album version, but its incredible live
10) Girl With X-Ray Eyes - only song on the album that I really don't like

After hearing the album so many times now, the one song I kinda am not caring for now is fuckin.......The Right Stuff. Its so long and it drags and drones on with repetition far more annoying than Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is from Giants, where the repetition actually suits the song.

It's still hard. I can't even get myself to listen to the songs when they come up in shuffle mode on my iPod. It's one of those albums I have to play in its entirety from start to finish. Who says albums are dead?
