01. The Dying Of The Light 02. Lock All The Doors 03. While The Song Remains The Same 04. Ballad Of The Mighty I 05. The Right Stuff 06. You Know We Can't Come Back 07. The Girl With X-Ray Eyes 08. Riverman 09. In the Heat Of The Moment 10. The Mexican
To put this In context I consider Riverman and Heat of the Moment to be two of the strongest songs released this year, them being at two of the last three on my list is all about the strength of the record rather than them not being great Noel Gallagher tracks.

we can all agree the Mexican is one of the worst. And While the Song Remains the Same is one of the best.

1) Riverman (this one, EOTR and IIHAG are the best songs Noel written since TIOBI. Really a shame it dosn't work better live. According to my father, one of the best songs ever, all categories.) 2) Lock All The Doors (I break every traffic rule there is when I'm driving and this comes on. Deserves to be played at stadiums.) 3) In The Heat of the Moment (The opposite to Riverman, average single from the beginning, but what a fucking belter live. The version from Milan is immense. A grower. Stadium worthy.) 4) Ballad of the Mighty I (Works well both studio and live, specially in Milan of course. The lyrics are amazing. Johnny Marr's bits are overrated, though. Many girls I know hails this as the best song they've heard. My mother for an example. And mothers always know best, right? 5) Revolution Song (Should have been on the album. Should have been a single. Should have been played live (Noel blamed Russ and Tim for fucking it up, originally planned to be in the set.) A classic Noel Gallagher song. 6) You Know We Can't Go Back (I know I was going to love this song when I heard the name of it. Great, great chorus. With a good audience it's really, really good live. Probably the next single.) 7) The Dying of the Light (A great song! Fantastic. But had higher expectations. The demo version is better, really. Love the acoustic performances he's done with Mikey Rowe. Incredible.) 8) Do the Damage (Took me a while but i love it. Great opener. Really good live.) 9) The Mexican (A not so good song really. Live, though, it's heavy as fuck.) 10) Freaky Teeth (A good song, which is even better live. But we had it on the last tour.) 11) The Girl With the X-Ray Eyes (A grower. Gets better every listening.) 12) While the Songs Remains the Same (Just like YKWCGB I was sure I was going to love this one. Great title. But it just doesn't do it for me.) 13) The Right Stuff (I can't believe how many people I've met here in Sweden saying TRS is the ONLY good song on the album. Fucking idiots. The song has ONE good bit and it's like three minutes in when the "When your heart gets shattered" bit comes. Noels vocals there are amazing. Otherwise, the worst HFB song. By miles. Very glad he doesn't play it live but it's probably beacause it's a duet and NG doesn't want to pay up for the lady.) 14) ITHOTM Remix (Donkey shit.) It's an amazing record, just as the first one. Only DM, WTSMG, BHN (and TM) are better records. Then comes these two. In common, all records are completely written by Noel. Not a coincidense.

Sorry. Idiot mistake of course... Russels backing vocals are mega! Sometimes he's great, sometimes not. The best example of that is The Dying Of The Light. Agree. His role this tour aren't close to the last one. Noticed that immedeatly at O2 (my first gig this tour). The new songs doesn't suit him as well as the HFB ones (and the old classics Noel played last time around).

Riverman You Know We Can't Go Back Ballad of The Mighty I The Right Stuff Lock All The Doors In The Heat of The Moment While The Song Remains The Same The Dying of The Light The Girl With X-Ray Eyes The Mexican Swap around YWCGB and WTRTS, then TDOTL ahead of LATD, and I can generally agree with this. I must say, though, that even The Mexican is one of the worst songs on the album, and the cycle, it's still crazy infectious with that driving riff, horns, and cool backing vocals. I wouldn't mind it being a single, aside from that fucking kid on crack lyric

I think that one lyric is what ruins it for everybody. It's amazing otherwise. Although the more I play it, the less I care.
