Doctor Who's constant fits and starts has been incredibly irritating since Cipaldi began. Wonder if he finally got fed-up. Having two episodes and waiting 6+ months for more is incompetent. When has that happened? There wasn't a full series on last year because Steven Moffat was busy with Sherlock. It couldn't really be helped. I'm exaggerating, but in Capaldi's first season the last episode happened on Nov 8th, 2014. The next episode wasn't until, barring Christmas, September the next year. Considering they only air episodes for two month, 10 months without Doctor makes no sense. It's like Noel using the 3 single method. Who's paying attention for that long? I actually didn't mind series 7 when they split the series into two parts. One in the spring and one in the fall. At least it was evenly distributed. Right now, including this upcoming series, there have have three straight series that have about 6 months worth of airtime and 30 months worth of no air time. What actor is sticking around for that schedule?

So, the plan for the last lot of Moffat-era Who episodes... -2016 Christmas special - MOFFAT -SERIES 10: Ep 1 - MOFFAT Ep 2 - Frank Cottrell-Boyce (wrote that boring-as-fuck one from series 8 - you know, the one with all the trees.) Ep 3 - Sarah Dollard (wrote series 9's 'Face the Raven') Ep 4 - Mike Bartlett Ep 5 - Ep 6 - Ep 7 - Ep 8 - Ep 9 - Ep 10 - MOFFAT Ep 11 - MOFFAT Ep 12 - MOFFAT -2017 Christmas special - MOFFAT Big stretch of non-Moffat eps there, in the middle. Hope the series can still hold together as well as series 9 did... Would be nice if those last three eps of series 10 were all one epic continuous story like what RTD did with series 4 (series 3 as well, but that was shite)... UPDATE: Episode 1 - 'The Pilot' (Steven Moffat) Episode 2 - 'Smile' (Frank Cottrell-Boyce) Episode 3 - 'Thin Ice' (Sarah Dollard) Episode 4 - 'Knock Knock' (Mike Bartlett)Episode 5 - 'Oxygen' (Jamie Mathieson) Episode 6 - 'Extremis' (Steven Moffat)Episode 7 - 'The Pyramid at the End of the World' (Peter Harness and Steven Moffat) Episode 8 - 'The Lie of the Land' (Toby Whithouse) Episode 9 - 'The Empress of Mars' (Mark Gatiss) Episode 10 - 'The Eaters of Light' (Rona Munro) Episode 11 - 'World Enough and Time' (Steven Moffat) Episode 12 - 'The Doctor Falls' (Steven Moffat) [As-yet-untitled 2017 Xmas special also written by Moffat]... Pretty excited for this. That episode, Extremis (which also features Michelle Gomez's Missy), sounds good. A Moffat stand-alone ep... Could be killer... ( The Escapist , am I right?) davidjay , how do you feel about the Mondasian Cybermen coming back? Are you as chuffed by it as Capaldi seems to be?

theyknowwhatimeanAny Moffat-written episode certainly has potential! Mind you, I could see him getting up to his old showrunner-tricks with this being his last run; I can only hope S10 isn't superficial, self-indulgent, cringey portentous tripe (Ahem...Sherlock). Some of those episodes don't sound like classics either...emojibots? That sounds a like a Russell T. Davies level of satirical subtlety... Still, you're always guaranteed a knockout piece of television with a series of Doctor Who - especially when the episodic writing talents of the Moff-ster is on board.

I bet Daily Mail readers weren't too keen on that... Ha!
I love it when Doctor Who gets political.

Helena Bonham Carter is my favourite Doctor. She hasn't actually been cast yet, but still - make it happen, Broadchurch Dude...

Steven Moffat strikes again! No-one, but no-one, writes an episode like this guy...

davidjay , how do you feel about the Mondasian Cybermen coming back? Are you as chuffed by it as Capaldi seems to be? Apols for my late reply. Work has been a bit mad recently and I haven't really kept up to speed with the forum. Yeah I think it's great that they're bringing back the original Cybermen. When I saw the publicity photos for this season I was surprised by how faithful they are to Sandra Reid's original 1966 designs. A while back Capaldi said you could take the original concept and update it, but it looks very much like the originals. They have a more unsettling, almost Frankenstein's monster type quality to them than later versions. The original Cybermen had a bizarre sing-song vocal delivery too, combined with some rasping modulation FX from the Radiophonic Workshop. Unlike the Daleks the Cybermen seemed to look and sound quite different with every appearance. I thought last night's episode was stunning. Best of the season so far, and I've been greatly enjoying the combination of 12, Bill and Nardole. Will be sad to see them go.

Couldn't he have just started a video chat with Bill or anyone else for that matter via the sunglasses and she could've just told him when he was at the right numbers?

I liked Smith a lot but Capaldi is amazing. Great actor That Scottish accent especially makes him so good.

I feel that I'd have enjoyed that episode a lot more if everything that it was building up to revealing hadn't been leaked or 'trailered' months in advance.
Still, great episode, works a lot better watching it the second time through.

Solid end to the series, but seemed to leave a lot of gaps for later scriptwriters to use for their own plans, avoiding making any real definite final statements on characters. Also John Simm and Michelle Gomez were great

Minority of people on Twitter saying stuff like 'Doctor Who's ruined' and they'll 'never watch it again' Never fails to amaze me how closed minded people can be. Tbh, if anyone's gonna ruin Doctor Who, it's much more likely to be Chris Chibnall based on some of the episodes he's written Although he did a good job on Torchwood, so who knows?

She's an excellent actress and was great in Broadchurch.
The only issue is whether BBC execs allow her to keep her northern accent (surely it won't be a problem considering Ecclestone and Capaldi kept theirs, but you never know with the snobs at the BBC...).

Sexy! I like the look of her, very cool...definitely felt like the right time for a mix-up. Still not convinced about Chibnall, though.

She was on a great episode of Black Mirror as well

Don't watch it nowadays but hope she does well and proves others wrong.
Bring back Billie Piper too.
