I like the single the more I listen to it... The song's about addiction, ICYMI. " missed a vein...", and "sick and tired of being sick and tired..." is a classic line used in recovery. Pete's getting really gray, hope he keeps it together. God bless. Yup, but it's clear that they're stuck in their relapses and constant using. It's not a positive song, but gives a nod in the chorus to the men who can stay sober. Everything about this song works, including Carl singing, and the music video. For a messy band, they came together well here. You failed to mention one key point: Mean Mrs. Mustard's probably fucked one of the Libertinés... God bless.

Not the best quality, but I really enjoyed this performance of 'You're My Waterloo' from Poland earlier this week

Really am liking Gunga Din. Love the verses, and the chorus is infectious. It is polished, but the more I listen it's embedded with all the Libertines' hallmarks. Love this.

So, is this better than Tame Impala's currents?

So, is this better than Tame Impala's currents? Tame Impala bores the fuck out of me. Not interested in that genre.

They played Barbarians again in Dublin. Not hugely different, but a slightly more together performance. Enjoy

An audible performance of Barbarians Also NME ran this. As far as I can tell it's untrue, I think they confused Fame and Fortune with Barbarians, but I can't find a full setlist anywhere. www.nme.com/news/the-libertines/86824Edit: I wanted to wait until I had a verifiable source, as it seemed far too unlikely to be true. But, as ridiculous as it seems, semi popular libertines fanzine the NME wasn't wrong. They really did play fame and fortune. Can't find a recording though Until I hear it, I still suspect it is the Domestic with new lyrics

Carl in particular seemed pissed off about it, might be why its not been shown.

So this morning, pete posted a link to a new libertines film, which is now dead. I assume this is the new Roger Sergeant film included in the £68 box set. In it the band played the following songs live:
Bucket Shop, Lust of the libertines (full band) the fury of chonburi (snippet) and a snippet of another song.
There were studio versions of Anthem for Doomed Youth (much like the live version), The Milkman's horse (great, new chorus has a hint of what Katie did) and a new song with the title not contained in the lyrics over the credits. I think it was fame and fortune. Sounds a lot like campaign of hate, with a little bit of hooray for the 21st century. Will be great live, the most libertines-sounding thing yet. Features pete and carl singing to each other about their relationship.
Also featured is a sort of song with pete and carl reciting poetry over some feedback. Unsure if this is a song from the album.
Glad I watched it this morning and was late for work, as it has now been taken down. Totally worth it. Amazed Pete was up at 6 in the morning

Here's 'Fame and Fortune'
It is NOT the song played over the credits of the film (nor is it 'The Domestic') I now have no idea what that song was. apparently the song 'Belly if the Beast' has a refrain at the end going 'Hallelujah Day', which this did not. Could be fury of Chonburi based on a discussion page and Carl have on that song in the film, but in the film they song a song with the words fury of Chonburi, which the song I heard did not have. Iceman I think is acoustic, and counting out ones we've heard parts of leaves 'Glasgow Coma Scale Blues' and 'Dead For Love', but those really sound like slow songs to me. Could be a hidden track, as the final track (Dead For Love) is easily the longest track. Although the final track often is.
Glasgow Coma Scale Blues I suppose.

So The track I heard on the outro of the film was Glasgow Coma Scale blues. It's a cracker. The new chorus of the milkman's horse is nice, but the first line a bit too close to what Katie did. The finished version is a lot better than the demo pete did. So those two are really good, but I was hoping they wouldn't be the best things on there.
Seems like the reviewer wasn't a big fan of the new album
Sounds like Heart of the Matter might have a bit of this

For whatever reason and I've said this many many times but I just can't get into this band, theirs songs and albums. Not sure why. I've tried many times to give them a shot over the last 12 years. Doesn't take. I much prefer The Coral or The Bees from the same time period. Octopus.......underrated Bee's album.

Listened to their first album for the first time today, really enjoyed it. 'Boys In The Band' stood out as the highlight track for me. Before today I'd only really heard bits and pieces from them and never really liked them. We'll see how this goes but at the moment I'm thinking they are fucking amazing, don't know why I've never listened to them properly before.

First review of the new album: thelibs-daily.livejournal.com/1103421.htmlIt is in French though. For those of you that don't' speak French, here is a rough translation (I say rough because I don't speak French either): Yeah, it's quite good
