Wow, this is such a moaning forum sometimes! I think it's a great single!
It's a fantastic song and I'm sure people who may not have thought about buying his album... thinking he just makes "oasis style" rock, might like this song (the sax etc) and check out the album....

That's what I was thinking,I would have love TDOTL as a single,as those kind of songs seem to be loved by the masses at the moment, but Riverman could make some of the members of the "Noel Gallagher's just a Beatles rip-off/talentless prick who writes pub-rock songs" brigade change their minds I still doubt it'll do well though

I think most people agree it's a great song. It's just not a radio single. How many stations are going to play it?

I fear the radio-edit... they might really butcher the song with it.

Preordered. I think this might be the best cover of the bunch.

I really don't get this song at all. Puzzles me why it's everyone's favourite.

Should've been TDOTL. Well let's hope YKWCGB is a summer single.
Why do the singles' artwork look 1000x better than the album's?

I hate thinking of that dire cover everytime one of the tracks off the album is in my conscience. Genuinely ruined the album for me.

Not sure about this as a single! Decent song though, depends what kind of radio edit you can get out of it.
Slightly surprised Here's a Candle wasn't the B-side, maybe that's for the fourth single?

Going by the artwork, I think it'll be bright red vinyl. It'll be beige

This needs a good radio edit to highlight the solo, chorus and saxophone. Otherwise will, as The Doctor said sink like a stone.

Noel adopt me I buy anything actually music related (CD/Vinyl/Gig tickets). I tend to stay away from other random merchandise unless its particularly quirky, for instance I still love my DOYS era Japanese toy bears, the Frustration set from 2006 is also a really cool item However most the tat they sell at the gigs can fuck right off!

Going by the artwork, I think it'll be bright red vinyl. I don't think so, Mighty I was kind of red as well. I think it'll be on clear vinyl (or maybe splatter), and then green and yellow for the next two.

Just heard Radio edit, singing basically comes straight in. and there's a bar missing before the chorus which is really jarring! Sax solo remains, as does the guitar solo although the intro to it has been trimmed.

the thing is that the release date - may 11 is just too late - they should release it now... ballad of the mighty i is not really that strong on the radio and untill may the noels record will be forgotten by the media (radio etc.) It's now that he does most tv interviews and stuff -so they should launch it now while the record is still fresh and hot.. you know we cant go back should than be the summer single..
