great! the best choice since it's the best and obviously most loved song on the album! now the best marketing move would be to let david beckham appear in the video..

Uhm... I was hoping for a Double A-side You Know We Can't Go Back/Lock All the Doors or something like that, perfect summer songs. And then The Dying of the Light for the winter. But Riverman is brilliant, not really commercial but brilliant.

Not a good single choice imo. Great song but can't imagine hearing it on the radio at all.

The fact we haven't got Freaky Teeth on this single is hopefully a good sign that the next B-side might be a totally new track, maybe 'Here's a Candle' that was mentioned on here before.

There's actually room for 5 singles off this album.
If you take the 5 bonus tracks and equate that to 5 b-sides.
In The Heat of The Moment/Do The Damage Ballad Of The Mighty I/Revolution Song Riverman/Leave My Guitar Alone You Know We Can't Go Back/Freaky Teeth The Dying Of The Light/In The Heat Of The Moment (Remix)
That's my prediction for the future singles.

Preordered! £7.99 for a single is a joke really, must be done for the sake of the collection though. It's also nice to have LMGA on a physical format (beyond the Japanese version of CY)

Really hoped for a new B Side I was 99% sure it'd be Freaky Teeth so I guess this is slightly better. Fingers crossed the next single will feature something new to justify spending the best part of a tenner! I hope we'll also get a boxset to store all these fancy coloured vinyls

There's always a chance that Noel will spring a 12" single on us, like with Everybody's On The Run.
It could either be double A-side or have 2 b-sides: one new and one we've already heard.

Is it just me? I think the CY B Sides so far are quite weak ( apart from the one's we already know: Revolution Song , Freaky Teeth). I'd prefer Alone on the Rope, Simple Game , I'd Pick You ; Let The Lord. Go on and kill me now I think the B-Side magic has left a bit for me.

Going by the artwork, I think it'll be bright red vinyl.

I like Freaky Teeth and prefer this version of Revolution Song to the 1999 demo. Leave My Guitar Alone is OK and no more. He's already released Alone On The Rope and A Simple Game Of Genius and, whilst they're both great songs, I think Noel's already accepted that they're from the previous album cycle and that's that. I'd Pick You Every Time is She Is Love part 2. I don't like She Is Love. Let The Lord Shine A Light On Me I do enjoy. The b-sides last time around were probably stronger on the whole but I think Do The Damage is as good as anything he released as a bonus track on the last cycle.

What Noel should have done with these two songs was put them on 'Songs from the Great White North'. That EP would be way more desirable than it already is if they had been included.

Both these songs are better than any of the actual b-sides. Surely you could fit 6 tracks onto a 12" EP. Or even release a double 7" EP like Magical Mystery Tour.

On a side note, I like the fact that he's releasing it as a single, even if it's not radio friendly at all, just cause it's his favourite song on the album

My bad english got me in trouble here. I didn't mean he should release the two songs (Alone on the Rope / Game Of Genius) as new B Sides. Hope i got you right there . I just wanted to point out that (to me) the B Sides had that special feel to them. Of course not all of them were brilliant.. I can't really describe it They had that 90´s vibe. Not the sound itself but the fact that Noel had some true winners, which could have been A Sides. I don't see it this time round. His whole marketing/ single campaign seems unethusiastic. On the other hand the album is so outstanding (and better than the debut), maybe it's rude to ask for more.
