Massive own goal...definitely the wrong choice I think. Something like Lock All The Doors should have been the single

This will sink like a stone.

Hope so.
It's sad that a great song like this won't be played but something like Crawling Over The Couch Like A Braindead Slut by Ariana Grande ft. Nicki Minaj will be forced upon us like a form of torture.

It's one of my absolute favourites on the album so for personal reasons it'll be good to own the single, especially in whatever mad colour they dream up.
With regards to the general public, all of the songs will be available on iTunes and Spotify individually anyway. Radio is probably the only medium that it affected by actual single releases and I'd agree it isn't the most radio friendly song on the album. There's still plenty of time for a big summer single though.
Will it entice the casual listener? It's probably not poppy enough but people can surprise you.

Singles chart is not important for Noel unless he'll release another What a Life with that kind of promotion. Have you seen the Muse single? #71. Blur's? Not even in the top 100.

I'm gonna be honest. I have a hard time getting fired up about singles in this day and age outside the very first one before an album comes out or leaks. Once an album is on iTunes, every song is a single at that point.

Once an album is on iTunes, every song is a single at that point. That's true to an extent but the radio stations (in the UK anyway) tend to only play actual singles. Mighty I has been getting at least twice daily plays on alternative radio stations and I'm pretty sure Heat Of The Moment got similar exposure. I don't think the other tracks have been played on the radio at all.

He should've used Alone On A Rope as the b-side and released a physical version for the fans.

I pre-ordered the coloured vinyl the minute I saw the announcement. I just couldn't risk it selling out before I get it like it happened with the Mighty I. I think it's going to be on clear vinyl, doesn't work that well as a single though.

It's not a radio single. They should have went with DOTL or YKWCGB.

Good song but boring for a single. Snoozefest.
