Which of these bands, occasionally referred to as the successor to Oasis, do you love the most?

I just added them for fun lol. Hey, they were the band that led to Oasis! I'll always have a soft spot for 'em

Were the Strokes ever considered the next Oasis? I love the AM and the first two Coldplay albums were great but neither of them ever made an album as good as Is This It.

I'm not a big fan of any of them to be honest. Coldplay were great until Viva La Vida in 2008, but the recent material is quite poor. Arctic Monkeys are overrated, The Strokes are not really my cup of tea and Jet... who?

none of the above but kasabian are a close contender even tho they are like marmite Kasabian never came close to Oasis. They're a very one dimensional band. In all honesty, even though I'm not a fan, Coldplay came closest to them IMO. I really like The Strokes but they only had one amazing album, one that was almost amazing and then it's all down hill from there. I'm still holding out hope that they redeem themselves someday.

You can chase me through town with the Arctic Monkeys. If you take away the hype sine 2005, what really remains left of them, musically? Teddy Picker, Fluorescent Adolescent, Brianstorm the next Supersonic, Slide Away, Some Might Say? They always smelled like indie bullshit to me.

Neither or none of them!
Coldplay were only decent for the first couple of albums, The Strokes I can't say I've really listened to them tbh. Artic Monkeys are ok but I never have been a big fan. Jet were ok, like their first two albums but other than that, not heard much.
Can't say anyone was or are the next Oasis. Never will be again!

Travis were bigger than Oasis at the beginning of the century, then Coldplay took over. The other bands mentioned hardly made a splash in the ocean. As for who's best: Coldplay by a country mile, even though the others had a few good moments.

Coldplay is the only band of those that's really big here. Way bigger than Oasis too.
After that Arctic Monkeys, who just about broke through here a bit last year.

Not a single one of them comes close. I'd say The Libertines were on to a good start but fucked it up after about two years, AM have some good tunes but they're no better than most of the more decent indie bands out there. Altogether I reckon there won't be a "next Oasis" for a long long time, no matter what the NME says (oh right, I forgot, the Vaccines were totally the next Oasis...).

No band that plays similar music to Oasis compares to them (bar NGHFB), but if I had to choose from these 4, I'd say Arctic Monkeys.
Coldplay started off well, but has been inconsistent over the years, and has fallen into a weird mix of U2, Radiohead, with a dash of Britpop mixed (something you'd think would be Godsend of a mix in sounds). Viva la Vida or Death and All of His Friends was quite good, though.
The Strokes, I'm not as familar with, but the songs I've heard from them have been some nice little pop rock tunes with good riffs and playing, so good on them.
Jet, they had a couple good songs, but something didn't click with them, it seems.
So, yes, AM.

Coldplay is the only one of those I like at all, but I wouldn't say they're particularly similar to Oasis. They're more like U2 + Radiohead.

Wow.......what a random list of bands. Jet? Come on. Gimme a break!!!!! One hit wonders. The Strokes haven't been relevant since 2004 sadly. Coldplay is by far the biggest band of the bunch and reaches far greater commercial heights than Oasis ever accomplished. And for longer too. The Monkeys have been hit or miss for me. Brilliant debut but only average albums until AM came out which I only listen to half that album.

:/
Jet were considered as the next oasis in the UK (Tho there's been a long line of bands)
Coldplay never even touched what oasis accomplished in the UK (which is what's relevant here most of the chatter is about UK charts press etc). I'm sure even now they aren't far and above oasis in terms of commercialism but even if they are so is Beyoncé, commercialism means nothing
