I'd have said the Libertines had the most potential, they were majorly popular at the time and basically began the new age of indie rock music. Almost completely unknown in America.

What about Spies, One I Love, Warning Sign, Amsterdam, A Message, White Shadows, Strawberry Swing, The Escapist, Us Against The World, Major Minus..... The Escapist is a great name for a song... Arctic Monkeys. Their impact was mega, wasn't it? At the level of DM, but they failed to keep the thing unlike Oasis with Morning Glory era.
None of those bands, though, are like Oasis. OASIS changed a country, they didn't only sell records. That's the fucking difference. The Stone Roses didn't sold many albums but changed the youth culture, just like the Sex Pistols. Ellie Goulding sells fucking records but she'll never change anything. Just some boys will musturbate watching her videos.
