Looking forward to new material. Have they posted the info yet? Besides this m.imgur.com/a/4p5kJAnd that http://instagr.am/p/Bal9kMFlrLY Not much info out there at the moment(but it's getting closer). Italian Amazon site has it up for order and also has some track titles listed on an incompte tracklist: "List of people (to try and forget about)" "Taxi's here" "Powerlines" And it’s out this week? Man that is wild. I thought i actually saw this in a indie record shop in Seattle 2 days ago. Said it was $75. I figured it was just a previous picture disc version of Currents so I passed on by. Should have taken a closer look. Guess it went on sale early.

Not sure if it should be trusted, but according to Amazon Italy, it's coming out November 17, and the 3 tracks are: List of People (To Try and Forget About) Taxi's Here Powerlines www.amazon.it/Currents-Extended-Tame-Impala/dp/B0766NPH8C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1508782221&sr=8-1So who knows when it's going to be actually released.

Has someone used soulseek or similar apps to identify the instrumental?

Talented mother fucker. That tune is the balls. I wonder what it is. Can't believe it didn't make the Currents pizza party.

A sign of a awesome band is that their B-sides are better then other bands A material, Tame's B-sides are great. I recent got Suede's first few album's collector editions, from one album they released like 25 B-Sides on Singles. And nearly every single B-side is excellent lol. God I miss those days that buying singles were worth every penny.

A continuation of the Currents sound, lets see how the festival dates goes and if they release more tracks in the following months.
I would've liked a more rockier sound but it's alright either way.
Description of the single in Spotify’s ‘about’ section:
“Tame Impala (Kevin Parker) has released "Patience," the first new music since his GRAMMY nominated, RIAA Gold-Certified 2015 release, Currents. "Patience" is a mid-tempo chugger of 70's disco and 90's house, stoned on the house-made Tame Impala lysergic liquor. A jubilant, confident cut of elegant piano jabs, driving disco drums and Parker's inimitable vocal style. The track is a lyrical meditation on life's cycles and phases that ascends to an overwhelmingly blissed out zenith, as our protagonist makes peace with the transience of time. Its a potent hint at the infinite possibilities for future Tame Impala.”

A lot more laid back and subdued than I was expecting.

I really loved their debut album and loved to seeing them for the first time in a small venue. I remember the front man/singer was standing barefoot on stage. Unfortunately their second album has let me down.

Not so keen on this new track. The 2nd album is still their peak for me. Altho the 1st album and the 3rd had some fine, fine moments.

Last two albums were led by absolute bangers. Elephant and Let It Happen. This is waaaayyyy more laid back then I was anticipating.

I don't think Patience is a song that's meant to be flashy or grab your attention. How do I know? It's in the title. It's one of those tunes that you put on and luxuriate in the layers upon layers of percussion and the spaces between those layers, rather than clinging on to a melody, riff, or chorus. Elephant had that immediate White Stripes-ey insistent riff, and Let It Happen the hundreds of hooks, but this takes some time to come to terms with. The very definition of a grower. And yes, it takes some patience.

Ok, so I was wrong about Let It Happen which is great song but I hate almost everything after first listen and also I am an idiot but what about Patience? I mean, it´s pretty meaningless, don´t tell me I´m wrong again... And maybe I am old fashioned but I think that guys like Kevin or bands like Tame Impala should always have big first singles and that there is nothing wrong in writing big hits. Ok, we need to be patient, it´s a grower and all that but maybe Kevin should take his role in modern music more seriously? I mean, yes, it´s his life, he can do whatever he wants, he deserves it but I think that artists should also have some responsibility.
