I absolutely love this album, must've heard it to death and I'm still not bored of it. Kevin Parker is a genius imo. Love how the songs are basically pop songs at their core but then again they're so much more than that.
The new video of The Less I Know The Better is another example, it's just so weird and trippy but I totally get what he's tried to put across.

Yeah totally agree, there's a whole universe between Parker's "pop" and Chris Martin's generic piano ballads. I guess when you achieve that level of success it's just easier to write the same thing a 100 times because you know the general public will lap it up no matter what. I honestly can't wait to see what Parker tries next, don't think there's a group at the moment that I eagerly look forward to new work from more than Tame Impala.

I saw the band last month in New York City and all I can say is..........SONIC ASSAULT for 2 hours. Great times.

This clip reminds me "Palo Alto", the excellent movie by Gia Coppola (amazing soundtrack by the way)!

Rihanna's new album which leaked tonight features a cover song from Tame Impala of "New Person, Same Old Mistakes". Not a bad cover in my opinion because it's basically the "Currents" version but with Rihanna on vocals instead of Kevin.

I'm listening to this every day. What a great album. For sure, in its genre, a 5/5 stars.

Kevin's remix to Miguel's Waves. I personally love Miguel's music and Waves was my favorite track off his last record, so naturally I think this is absolutely FANTASTIC for a remix. If you haven't heard of Miguel give him a shot, he's got an outstanding voice but he just injects a verve and sensual tenderness that few vocalists can pull off. Dude is definitely influenced by rock n' roll in a lot of wayz, but dude just drips with soul and funk. pitchfork.com/news/63739-tame-impala-remix-miguels-waves/

Is anyone else a little worried for Kevin Parker? He's now reaching that Chris Martin point with his collaborations and pop appeal. He's worked with Mark Ronson, Rihanna, Lady Gaga. I hope he doesn't go the Coldplay direction of things. I value his artistic output way to much to have it stolen for the LA/Hollywood glam. Stay the course Kevin.

Mark Ronson collaborations were stellar and Riri did a nice karaoke of his song. However, the imput he had on Perfect Ilusión makes me worried, not about Tame Impala future, but rather Lady Gaga's one. What a mess of a track Josh Homme, Mark Ronson, Kevin Parker and you can only listen to their imputs on small bits in a lame song.

A bit late to the party with Tame Impala and the genius of Kevin Parker. Let It Happen is one of greatest songs of the last few years, like if Pink Floyd was reborn and wanted to try some synths lol. Parker does have the Lennon/Barret vibe to his voice which I cant help but love. Probably prefer Lonerism to Currents, just cause it rocks a bit more. But Currents is excellent. Nothing wrong with going down a pop route if you are still willing to make art, unlike Chris Martin who's doing it to stay hip with the kids. Only a few bands around today make me still excited for modern music and Tame Impala are one of them.
By the way the videos they make are just some of the best around today.

Kevin's definitely a different animal than Chris Martin. He knows his roots and inspirations, and bottles it for himself to better his versitality as a artist rather than seek other's approval. The three artists mentioned aboved have collaborated with him out of WANTING the talent he has, rather than being begged like a lapdop. Martin always seeked the approval of others even when he made good music, with guys like Noel, Thom, Michael Stipe, Ashcroft, etc. When he starting hanging out with Jay-Z, that's when he pussied out. He started seeking the attention of people who are not as talented as him (he already proved he had what it took to be up there with AROBTTH). Trust me, if you even see Kevin Parker give Beyonce any form of recognition, it will be passive as if she's just another famous pop star (which she always has been). 2016 Chris Martin on the other hand worhsips her like some false goddess that's fallen from the heavens. Insecure much?

Insecure much? That's the difference sadly, Martin always knew he was the geeky kid in a class of the rebels, that's what made him in a way. Like he so badly wanted to fit in, and wanted to show his heroes that he meant business (that's why Noel, Michael and Richard got up on stage and respected him) which made Coldplay's early work special (don't care what anyone say's AROBTTH and Viva la Vida are both classics). When the chase of trying to stay trendy became more important then the art, Martin lost his soul. Plus he's become a dislikeable guy. Parker right now is ahead of the curve, so he's going to have the likes of Lady Gaga etc... chasing him to work with them. I suppose the big money he's getting helps too. I don't think the Gaga collaboration is too out of place, she likes to mix things up and is a talented musician herself.

For someone who's been influenced by such great artists and who plays multiple instruments and has a great voice, she sure makes shit music.

At least there is going to be the deluxe version/B-sides of Currents to satisfy the Tame Impala fever for a while.
