1. He wrote them so he can do whatever he likes with them 2. Can you imagine going to see Noel Gallagher and not hearing anything he wrote during his Oasis years?! It's like going to see Status Quo and not hearing Down Down or AC/DC and not hearing Thunderstruck or U2 and not hearing One or The Eagles not playing Hotel California....It's the same for any successful artists. There are certain songs, from certain eras that need to be played live I am not saying that he shouldn't play any Oasis songs. Just 2-3 are more than enough. If he really wants to establish himself as a solo artist, he should reconsider this. Critics and people outside the Oasis crowd will not take him seriously if he keeps relying so much on the past. Maybe he really thinks that's his only crowd and he can't draw any new fans. This is just nonsense. There are tons of artists who got out of bands and still perform some songs they did with that band, and they are being taken seriously. And some of them didn't even write the songs themselves! Nonsense.

The Setlist was very very very good (a bit unbalanced in my opinion, too slow in the second half). I can see he HAS to play some Oasis songs (fit the causal listeners) but.... DD? C'mon. Really miss While the Song Remains the Same Actually I think Digsy's Dinner is an Oasis song more for the fans. A good bit of nostalgia which I quite enjoy, although I can see why some don't.

I really liked the setlist but imagine this:
01. (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach 02. Everybpody's On The Run 03. Fade Away 04. In The Heat of the Moment 05. Lock All The Doors 06. Riverman 07. The Death of You and Me 08. You Know We Can't Go Back 09. Champagne Supernova 10. Dream On 11. The Dying of the Light 12. The Mexican 13. Shout It Out Loud 14. The Right Stuff (instead of Digsy's Dinner) 15. If I Had A Gun 16. The Ballad Of The Mighty I Encore 17. Do The Damage (instead of Alone On The Rope) 18. Don't Look Back In Anger 19. AKA... What A Life! 20. The Masterplan
Would've been one of the best sets ever! But still missing While the Song Remains The Same and Revolution Song..

I guess Paul Weller,Johnny Marr,Damon Albarn,Richard Aschroft,Morrissey,Paul McCartney are alle insecure about their songs then Morrissey played only 4 Smiths songs out of 20 in his last tour setlist and he originally sang all of them.

hey guys, what did I miss? If you just got here, you missed a lot. Debates about setlist (one that made the rounds until we found out it was fake) followed by tension, anticipation, pleasant surprise once the concert got underway, a lot of NO WAY moments, euphoria, general fainting and disbelief, some grumblings, a lot of ecstatic reactions, and a smooth finish. Did I miss anything? ....oh wait, Noel played Champagne Supernova, Shout It Out Loud, Alone On A Rope, AND The Masterplan!!

With all due respect...Johnny Marr recently played SEVEN Smiths songs out of 20, plus 1 Depeche Mode cover. And he has two solo albums out as well. I'm pretty sure I didn't hear anyone complain then. I'm sorry, I will just have to agree to disagree with you. I can see your side but I still disagree.

Liam sang on a lot of Oasis songs but I have more of a problem with Liam singing them now, like he did with Beady Eye, than Noel singing them, as he indeed wrote them.

Noel's fanbase is made up mostly of Oasis hardcore fans and while his solo stuff is great, so long as chancers like Ed Sheeran are around, he ain't gonna gain a new fanbase purely based on his solo material

Check out the updates from the official NG twitter, and also from SCYHO on twitter (most of them were posted here already though, including the small video clips. You'll have to read through the last 15 pages haha.

I don't see what that has to do with anything. For the record I am a massive Smiths fan and do not begrudge either Morrissey or Marr singing any of those songs solo, as they both have equal writing credit for them. The point I was making was that Noel has more right that any other to sing songs that he wrote, regardless of who sung them.

Good set Anyway I think he should try to go near the 2 hours mark, ala Macca/Boss, and he could have done it easily adding 3 or 4 of the new ones: X rays eyes, tune remains the same, do the damage, freaky Teeth, even reverendum song.

He's about to have two albums go #1 as a solo act and is now headlining festivals along with playing to arenas. I think he's established himself fairly well.

To be fair on this whole set list fiasco.
Last tour when I saw him in Chicago he played 9 Oasis songs. This time only 6. More solo material, less Oasis songs. I expect the number of Oasis songs to decline more.

Someone asked for a photoshopped picture of Liam playing sax on the Right Stuff. I couldn't ignore something like that. Neither of them are great but I couldn't actually find a picture of Noel with a real saxophonist on stage. Take your pick!
